Car share had its moments - the monkey from the safari park made me laugh out loud.

In my opinion it’s worth persisting

I'm not sure why I forgot about Coupling. I bought the DVD box set from eBay last weekend.

Did no one mention The Young Ones? Came along at that time in my life, and and was the event of the week for me and my group of friends. Pretty much the same for Not The Nine O'Clock News.

    Red Dwarf
    Drop The Dead Donkey

^^^ Forgot about that, has spurred me to contribute: -

The Young Ones - as above, was highlight of the week for me too though seems rather OTT and not sure I could watch too much of it now
    Black Adder - still funny
Mrs Brown's Boys - believe not popular on TZ...
Dad's Army - timeless comedy, something even our children would watch
The Office - fourth choice difficult, could have been Peep Show, PhoneShop, even Superstore or a few others

Still undecided on the other two
And Peter Kaye's "car share". The episode about dogging is a classic, to the extent I can't breathe!

Such a simple concept but exceptionally well executed and delivered

Re #10 , so far out of the shows named there's been 31 I could easily have chosen 4 from.

For me it would be in no particular order:
    Peep show
Afterlife- so well written and acted with some hilarious and touching moments
    Bottom
    The office

Close runners would be “ game on” with a young and very naughty Samantha Janus as well as Gavin and Stacy that again is so well written and very clever and finally from the brilliant Ruth Jones and Julia Davis “ nighty night” which is so dark and off the wall it’s hilarious

    The Inbetweeners

There isn't a 4th that stands out for me. I enjoyed the Office, car share, early doors and some of the others mentioned but these three stand out for me.

yes, I think you should. It gets into its stride from series one, episodes 3-4. Then you start to see what the fuss is about.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
    Good Omens
    Ambassadors
    Inside No. 9
    Cabin Pressure

Two of those relate to radio series, which I assume is okay as the OP refers to recordings on CD.
