    Wolverhampton curry recommendations?

I’m meeting 3 old friends for an evening in Wolves in a few weeks time. It’s 3 decades since I’ve been, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a proper, authentic curry house in the town? Other ethnic styles would be good, too.

Ideally we’d want something reasonably upmarket, and not too noisy so we can hear each other moan on, as you do…

The Bilash was the best twenty years ago. Seems to still have decent reviews.

The Dilshad and the Bilash used to be the best in town but I've not been to either for a few years now

    Thanks, guys.
I’ve been a couple of times to the Dilshad, the first must have been only a few years after it opened.
Recent reviews on both look reasonable so I’ll see what my colleagues think.

We haven’t been to the Bilash since pre-Covid, but it was excellent then

It’s a big ask. Either Bilash or get a cab to The Kings Repose, just because it’s a bit different.

This post brings back fond memories. I’m pretty sure Dilshad was where we used to pile in armed with bottles of Cobra thirty or so years ago. It wasn’t fine dining but the food was authentic and delicious and it was just around the corner from the campus. The Bilash must have been a fledgling restaurant as I don’t remember it as fine dining but it too was near campus but perhaps didn’t allow bring-your-own so wasn’t a favourite with ruffian students. It looks just the ticket for a more mature gathering.

Another Bilash here. Had some good great meals there.
