    Can anyone Identify this dog?

While walking on the mountains today my dog made a beeline for this corpse.
Before I ask any local walking/ lost pet groups if anyone has lost a dog recently I wondered if anyone knew what breed this was.
Unfortunately I didn’t take a pic with my foot in the frame but it was a very large dog, possibly a husky given the colour and texture of the fur.
If I had to guess id say it’s been there for several weeks as the front section still had meat on the bones but the animal would have been covered in snow for part of that.
There was no collar but several parts had been scattered around including the jaw bone.
If I thought wolves were still roaming I’d have guessed that given the size.

Looks like it could be Vexorg, destroyer of cats & devourer of chickens. RIP

Are you sure he’s dead? He could be resting. Try throwing a stick or a ball.

On first glance, I would say that it is definitely not a slow worm.

I did wonder about posting here but really didn’t want to post the pic of a loved missing pet on a FB group for the owner to see.
Looking like it was a Husky which was lost last year several miles away.

Really very sad to see and hope the owners had closure before or they do now.

    That's horrible.

Going by the fur I would possibly go for a Giant Schnauzer?
    Cheers,
    Neil.

You should give the location to the RSPCA. They can check the implant-chip and check for other evidence (cause of death: natural or inflicted etc). These people can inform the owner, once found.

I shall hide the pic for my dog. He's still not over the fact that he's adopted. I told him that recently.

No, this dog is no more, he's kicked the bucket, he's shuffled off this mortal coil. This is an ex-dog.
