I have a Seiko Kinetic desperate for a new capacitor. Can anyone help?

I haven't replaced cells from kintecs but I have done a few solar watches. Assuming the process is broadly similar it isn't any more difficult than changing a battery in a quartz.
If you know the model of watch you should be able to find out the movement number from there the part number for the capacitor should be easy to find. Once you have that I expect that you'll find one on eBay. In my experience it is usually the same cell but with different tags soldered on depending on the movement.
I took my last one to my local jewellers who charged about £35 inc. pressure test.
Also had several replace by Jody at Watchkings in North Tawton.
But not sure if he is still willing and able after a quick Google search.

I’ve done a few as others have said pretty straightforward- just need to remove the winding rotor (1 screw) and orientate the cell correctly
Post the model number up
I have done a couple and suggest.
Need good magnification/light and good quality screwdrivers plus metal and plastic tweezers (plastic on capacitor/battery to avoid shorting terminals).
Check Youtube for videos to see if you feel confident.
Best to take off rotor by removing centre screw and wear finger cots to avoid leaving prints.
The holding plate can spring up and catapault the screw into oblivion so hold down plate as screw released
Rodico is handy to hold removed screws as they are tiny.
Make sure you position insulator between retaining plate and capacitor correctly on guide pins before fitting plate .
use tweezers to position screws before tightening
Use air puffer to remove dust etc and clean off debris from around case back before you remove it and avoid it entering movement
Shake 100 times to recharge once back together :-)
Ah a bfk
Cousins sell both for about £34 +vat and shipping
Seiko 3023.5MY -£9.99 +
290PB2HN02 £23.45 +
Guessing your case#

I used to do them cheap for forum members and it's still an open invitation, generally it's £25 plus postage.
I haven't done any for a while (in fact I did my last batch this time last year as a contribution to GraniteQuarry Ukraine fundraising appeal).
I've not even been ordering capacitors for my own watches, BUT as it happens I've just bought a Seiko Streamline "Ventura" kinetic in auction which will no doubt need a new cell when it arrives, so I'll be ordering next week.
Drop a PM if you want it doing. I don't fit the glass myself but I can happily order one and have it done for you.

Replaced one a few years ago. Biggest problem was the rotor retaining screw which required a very thin screwdriver head. I used a whetstone and oil to sharpen a precision screwdriver. This was quick and easy.
The advice above is far more comprehensive and Kevkojak's offer is superb. If you want a satisfying challenge, it's very doable using the advice on this thread.

Thanks for everyone's input.
The crystal is cracked but that's an easy fix.
I'm not confident in doing the capacitor myself so a PM incoming.
