The blue is a good looking piece, I wish they'd made it a touch smaller though, at 40mm I'd have been really keen to try it.
In case people haven't seen it yet - looks like a smaller Bulova moon watch is coming. 49mm lug to lug I believe, which makes it wearable for me, so it's exciting!

I haven't seen them for sale anywhere.
THIN is the new BLACK
To be released in April I believe.
They are designated 96k111 (black dial) and 98k112 (blue) - you can order them now but I don’t think they’ will ship until 07.02.23.
It doesn’t look to be as small as I hoped though..
43mm isn't much smaller than 45mm, surely 40/41mm would have been a better shout?
Still looks lovely though and that movement is very wonderful.
So close. Why could they not have blasted the case and fitted the velcro strap from the earlier model? Is the lug width the same
I had the 45mm black cased model but had to sell it as it was simply too big. I'm not sure 43mm is going to wear much better sadly ... 42mm is the sweet spot for me for Chronographs (as per Omega Speedy Pro)

I had the pvd for about 3 years. The size was ok for me (I've had bigger) but the lugs really needed to be 22mm. There was something not right about it. But it really looked good and had an amazing 3D dial. The pvd held a lot better than I expected. It's a very strong watch.

I suspect that the movement might not fit in a smaller case...
With the new 43mm... they have reduced the case size but the dial size remains the same as with the 45mm. I bet it is going to look even more awkward.

It sounds like the laziest possible response to the multiple customer requests for a smaller Lunar Pilot.
They've basically just shaved the tiniest amount off the outside of the case and made no other changes. Shame.
Personally, if the 262Hz movement simply won't fit in a smaller case, I couldn't care less if they just used a bog standard quartz movement instead. I'd still buy it.
This "new" 43mm watch, which is actually 43.5mm, is a complete non-starter for most people with a wrist circumference less than 7 inches, for exactly the same reasons that the 45mm doesn't work.
Huge opportunity missed.

Makes it look good. I like that it's now the same size as the original...
I have as yet to see a head to head between the old and the new sizes.

Has anyone bought the one of the new versions yet?
I have been looking at them since this thread started and quite fancy the white dial.
I would like to know if anyone has, or had, both the 45mm and the 43mm and could let us know how they wear in comparison to each other.
Well, I just bit the bullet and ordered the black faced version.
I love the look of the white one but not sure I would be able to read the time easily, as the hands and dial all seem to blend in too much for me.
I will post up my thoughts once it arrives.
We still haven't seen a comparison between the old and the new. Strange that.

I was very excited at first for this smaller model then I realized that only the case has been reduced.
The dial is still the same size …
The watch surely wears a little bit better but visually its still big, especially the black one.
Ok, I ordered the black one but the white version was nagging me so I changed the order to get the white one.
I also found the older black faced version for a really good price and decided to get that for a direct comparison.
Both of these are fantastic. Both wear really well on my 7.5 inch wrist. The white version just pops when you have in hand. Size doesn't come across very well in the photo but the white is definately not as obtrusive to wear.
I put them here with a couple of Seiko's finest to act as a reference.
Always fancied one of these, but even the smaller version seems too big
Maybe one to try on in the flesh
Thanks for the real life photos. What's the lug to lug dimensions? Is it completely polished? Looks it in the photo.

Not sure on the dimensions, I don't have a means to measure it unfortunately; there are a few youtube videos with them.
All polished case with a bit of brushing around the bezel. If anyone is on the fence who fancies one it would definately be worth trying one for size, you might be surprised how wearable they new ones are.
