560 bhp to the rear wheels can be scary.

That looks like it red lines higher than Michelle Mone on half a packet. Unthinkable

It's been nearly 80 years since the last German atrocity on that scale and people are still annoyed about that!

Enjoy your car OP, looks like a beast.

Just as well it came with go-faster stripes with only 560bhp under the bonnet. Nice colour-scheme. Enjoy!

    That’s special, love it. Congratulations.

Congrats, whilst looks will always remain subjective, very capable machine!
How does it stack up against your Cayman GT4? Recall being equally impressed when you landed that car...!

Congrats. Fabulous things and I actually think the big kidney grill suits these in a way it doesn't suit the 7 Series etc.

I owned a 1990 635 CSI Highline back in the day. Bought it off an old guy in my village for £1500 !!! Oh how I wish I’d kept hold of it.
As for the other 3 in the photos I would seriously consider selling my house and moving into a caravan to have them in my collection !!

Very cool! My mate just recently got his M3 Comp Touring, it's skyscraper gray with the carbon kit.

I am sure it’s a hoot to drive but I will just never understand what BMW’s designers were thinking with that front end.

Nice. The best thing is it’s so affordable you can park it anywhere overnight and not have to fret about it.

You owned the previous model? I struggled with the damping & the fact on any undulating road it is the only car I felt would kill me as a result - interested if this has been solved when you can open it up.

As a comparison in my Cayman GTS I was redlining out of corners the first day of owning (2nd hand) and nothing I ever could do with the prior M4.

The front is not to my liking, but damn the rest of it looks aggressive as hell, my biggest Cayman issue is it just doesn't have GET OUT THE WAY that my M4 had, let alone yours!

Not been close to BMW since moving to Porsche, but assumed the new M4 would have been 4WD optional as per the M5 update.

Bet you cannot wait until it is run in...FIL has a new 911 GTS last month as counting down the miles - his doesn't need a 'run in service', is this 1k mile thing still an M thing? Know it was in the E46/Z4M eras. (cannot remember on my F model tbh!)

Enjoy it, that's some grunt it has!

It’s a very striking vehicle indeed, enjoy! 👍

BMW have found their mojo a bit lately, even the grille looks ok on this one.

It'll need a service at 1500 miles no doubt. They are cracking car's but BMW wring you're wallet pretty quickly.

I thought the first was free, as part of the ownership, my 2 M cars have been second hand.

Oh and nothing vs Porsche, a £600 service with £5k of optional items to be done.

    BMW never pulled that shite.

I thought the shakedown service was free, it was on my M4

  29. #29
    Cheers guys
    Yes a service at 1200 miles. £500 I think it costs ?
This is my 1st m car and so far it great
Handling and steering is so pin sharp and rock solid
The titanium exhaust in sport+ sounds glorious
And it comes fully loaded with all the mod cons. Carbon buckets are superb
As are the carbon ceramic brakes
It’s a rear wheel drive so caution needed at times
Ref a comparison to the cayman. I had a gt4 pdk last year and this Csl is loads sharper and quicker 420bhp Porsche. 560 bhp bmw I much prefer this Csl. The gt4 was very dated Inside the Csl is a work of art with all the carbon and very hi tech which I like

Fook me, I just looked at the price.

I guess the leccy business must be doing well and good luck to you fella. Must be nice to have a big splurge like that.

The colour combo you’ve chosen actually makes the grille look pretty good to my eyes. It all works aesthetically as quite a statement.
Good for you and good luck to your driving licence!

Have you bought this to own long term or sell on at a profit in the short term? Either is fine obviously, just interested given it very much looks to be a 'fun' weekend car.

BMW UK are actively black listing every retail (or reseller) customer that flips a CSL. Through my own business we know of 2 customer's that this happened to with the M4 CSL this year and another had his M3 Touring that was inbound taken off him too.

OK if you like that sort of look, personally I can’t see the appeal of such a boring bland colour..........maybe its a fashion thing. Same applies to the black wheels, just don’t like ‘em. As for the grille............whoever designed it must’ve been pissed.

Sorry, but I think it looks awful. If I has that parked under my window on the drive I think I’d keep the curtains drawn to avoid having to look at it. A nicer colour without the black wheels might look OK, still wouldn’t fix the ugly grill, but it would help.

You don’t see the outside when your driving though. Bet it will be fun on a track.

Romans International have one for sale if you change your mind, and need one under your window.

    New car incoming

CSL will always be good vs standard but can only go so far, so really intrigued. I couldn’t believe how disappointed I was with the last gen as a huge M fan.

You recall the price he generously offered aircon (emphasis on CON) units here for on SC.

Easy to afford if your pricing strategy is like that.

Having been in the motor trade for 50+ yrs I do try to stay with trends but I can’t help agreeing with walkerwork- unless you use this as a track car it is completely impractical and not overly attractive to look at- I cant help thinking of The Emperors New Clothes. Sorry to be an old bore but there are far nicer options and I know we are all different- enjoy your new toy.

That is lovely. I think the standard M4 comp looks a bit underwhelming but the M4 CSL just looks so aggressive. I recently purchased my second M car an F80 M3, 10 years after my first. Just seem to always find myself drawn to M cars, much prefer them to the Merc and Audi rivals.

Seconded. Just because you describe it as boring and flat doesn’t make it boring.

It’s a hugely popular colour because it’s looks good and most people like it across a range of car brands.

Maybe fashion will change and it will fall out of favour but for now it works, so the ‘miserable gits’ will just have to continue being confused by trends they don’t understand.

I’ve only seen 1 of the old ones on the road and I heard it before I twigged what it was, the next day i saw a M5 CS on the same bit of road. Certainly a nice toy to enjoy.
