I agree, looks smart. Be good to get hands on look at one

I'm not too fussed about the Boeing connection here but boy this is a good looking Navi. Definite viewing for this one I think and not a huge premium on standard prices

Pretty, but silver and white hands on a silver dial ain't gonna win favours with anyone after a serious timepiece, which the Navitimer should be really given its heritage.
Not a huge fan of white Navis myself.
I agree about the silver hands on a white dial being hard to read though.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Never been too drawn to the brand, but I do love that. Always been a fan of the 747, so that helps.
When are these available to view / buy? Checked a couple of retailer sites just now but doesn't appear to be available.
Really like that, apart from the red ring .. spoils what is a good looking watch massively.
/vince ..
I was in the new Breitling boutique in Canary Wharf today. They weren't sure they would be getting one into the store. I put my name down to express interest and they are going to try and get one to the store for me to view. They seemed to be implying that these are going to be quite hard to get...

It is a good looking watch but I agree with what's been said. It isn't going to be very legible with that dial and hands combination.
Have always liked the look of the Navitimer, but agree with the points on legibility. And the red...! Sometimes that really works - I'm not an Olympics fan, but the red Tokyo Speedmaster Olympics model was gorgeous. But this one not for me.
Given the red chapter ring (ish), you'd think they could make the hands match in colour - that would give contrast between both the silver dial and the black subdials - and make it all a little more cohesive.
My eyesight definitely isn’t what it used to be but the dial looks reasonably easy to read from the photo and certainly much better than my previous Navitimer which had so much silver on the dial that the hands were pretty much illegible. Would be nice to see this in the flesh and under natural light.
Soz for such a noob question but why this is called 747 edition ?
See the opening thread title.
