    Bell & Ross appreciation

Took me a while to get my head round the aesthetic and decide to get one, but this watch gives me great joy. That’s it, that’s the post.

Good stuff, lovely watch and a brand worthy of enthusiasm. Though I’d dispute the definite article of a B&R aesthetic. They do some cracking non-square watches too :)

I love the brand, unmistakably French and following their own path without apologising for it. This is my only one now, and it’s a wonderful watch. It always triggers delight when I wear it, which is best reason to own any watch.

Some other now gone, but very fondly remembered

I like B&R but always found the BR02 and Demineur more attractive than the square BR03.

I really like B&R, and despite having considered purchasing several over the years, I still only have the one, the heritage PVD 123 in what i like to term the "Caramac" colours.

I tried on a blue dial BR05 a few years ago and fell in love with it. Ended up getting a speedy which I've now sold, wish I'd stuck with the B&R

I'd wanted a Nightlum for ages but got tempted by this in the Jura sale

I never bonded and flipped it in short order.

Soon after a Nightlum came up on SC & I really like it.

I really wish I had bought that one you listed on SC- great price and looks great.

I had a BR03-92 , sold it a while back and will add another one back one day. The are great watches , found them really comfortable too.

I liked my B&R until I had to deal with their service centres. My hudromax came back with a scratched glass, sent back to be resolved and that took another 5 months!

Sent my BR01-44 Titanium off and the balance weightcame back making more noise than it went awat with. The response was 'they do that'.....

    Would never touch them again!

Never owned a B&R in 30 years of watch collecting, then I found this and fell in love.
The ex display price was the clincher for me!

The other night a Bell and Ross Space chrono (the first one, a Sinn 142 branded for B&R) sold on Ebay for just under a grand. It needed a service, but that is a lot of watch for the money.
    Anyone here get it?

I was a watcher. The kids started having a tantrum and missed it for a few min. I wish someone here got it

I have this one and Andy’s heritage stainless steel BR03-92. Great watches and a bit like Panerai for strap choice.

Popped my recently acquired Golden Heritage on an engineer bracelet today.

    Perfect combo for me.

That's a weird one. What's B&R's thinking with the skull shape that's often seen in their designs?

I think it started as a reference / tribute to the 82nd Airborne, but it seems to have grown into an aesthetic for special editions, burning skull, laughing skull, cyber skull etc.

I see I posted #5 above, still have my 03-92, still a fan for the same reasons.

Had a few over the years. I can only find pictures of these 3. Great brand and great watches. Enjoyed each one. The 01-92 Carbon Fibre is the Watch I owned longer than any other.

Now on a tan Toshi - beautiful combo, brings the cool gold to life...

Very much loving this watch. Don't know why I've waited so many years to try a B&R.

They’re superb - don’t limit yourself to the instrument series either, there are some great watches from them out there 👍

Recent addition from SC, ceramic, for a large watch, it’s a very comfy fit.

  35. #35
I have the 123 Sports Heritage but have always listed after a Red Radar ceramic...think someone on here had one briefly up for sale! An interesting brand which can offer a nice degree of diversity in a collection.

I'm finding myself getting drawn towards these b&r square case watches. Do we know if b&r came up with this original design or did they borrow from another manufacturer?

The inspiration for the square B&R instrument series were clearly cockpit clocks of the type below. These images are stolen from the internet but the Sinn at least belongs to a TZer

Some are a circle in a square, some are round, but with a big square plate for bolting it into the cockpit. B&R took this idea and turned it into a wristwatch. Hence their tagline of “From the Cockpit to the Wrist”.

B&R were originally in partnership with Sinn, and Sinn historically were quite a producer of NaBo clocks. Sinn themselves have revisited the idea with the 717

FINALLY. - an old-school square watch with the 4 screws at random angles. Previously everyone said this was unavoidable (AP Royal Oak aligns using a different design)

How do B&R now get all the screws aligned towards the centre - as every other square watch on this thread shows?
