I have had absolutely no problem getting ETA, Sellita etc at all over the past 10 years, and still use 2824-2 movements. I deal with Sellita direct (who are brilliant) but ETA is bought via other supplies, normally in Switzerland or Germany.
However, I do tend to order lower qty, normally 100 movements at a time - I can see this being more of an issue for people wanting say 500-1000 movements.
They say that Sellita won't sell them a COSC movement, but it's actually COSC refusing to certify watches that are not Swiss Made.
