    Drunk eBay purchase

Let's play the eBay drinking game!

Get hammered, peruse eBay, see what turns up in the post a couple of days later.

    This!

It could have been a lot worse and/or expensive! Looks very wearable, although I think I'd find it a tad small (I have the 39mm). Assume you're left handed?

Nope, right handed. I've worn watches on my right wrist since 1987. Just prefer it.

It's 37mm so about spot on for an Explorer slash Snowflake homage. It'll probably reside in my watch box and come out on occasion.

Looks great, and as others have said it could have been worse!

I have a San Martin 38mm Ranger clommage, and am very pleased with it for the money.

    This!

Probably one of the best built watches at it's price point.

I handled a San Martin Explorer faux lume model last week. It would embarrass any Seiko at it's price point, and the bracelet (and clasp) would seriously embarrass the one on an mm300 at £2800!! It's absolutely solid.

    Thanks chaps!

It's a beaut for the cash, superb build. Probably an evening piece rather than every day, but a nice watch to have in the box. I could have done worse.

I used to have a 1957 vintage moped ( only five or so years ago). It was a Rabeneick so very rare and parts were in the hens teeth category.

Often after a glass or two I would be scouring Ebay Germany for hard to get parts. The spontaneity that alcohol imbues would often result in a parcel arriving 10 days or so later, to my surprise and thinking “ did I really order this” ?

For clarity: did you purchase the ring whilst drunk or the person on whose finger this was intended for?

Sent through the ether by diddling with radio waves

Hmmm, bike componentry and an expensive ring eh? I think I might have been outdone already!

Having had time to really look over this SM watch, I have to agree that the bracelet really is amazing. Dare I say it, but it's better than my Sinn bracelet. It may come in handy for other pieces I reckon.

I bought two identical tag F1 chronos.

I seem to remember bidding on one, then looking back and seeing no bid. So I bid again.
What I'd not paid attention to was the different pictures on each page. Won both auctions about 3 minutes apart.

Was on holiday in the Alsace, on bikes - and one evening after the usual cremation of pork products on the BBQ and big inroads into the beer and wine stock - I put in a bid on a BMW R1200s at around £5,200…………

Woke up in the morning with a sore head that was partially alleviated when I discovered that I hadn’t won it !!!

    Phew !!!

Not drunk, but I have spent several hundred pounds on vintage Conshelf XIV Scuba regulators since the first COVID lockdown.

I think I have about 6 full sets now and numerous odd first and second stages.

This one was NOS, still in the original box from a dive centre in Cyprus and the only one that didn't come from eBay!

Not from eBay, but I did buy a Bulova Lunar Pilot online after a number of glasses of red wine topped up by some pretty fearsome pain meds after a shoulder operation!

It was actually a great price for a great watch, and I ended up gifting it to my youngest son for his 30th birthday, so hardly a cautionary tale!

Ooops! Did you end up flipping one immediately on delivery?

Friend of mine, whilst in the army, circa about 1998.

On leave, out with mates. Has a skinful.

Next morning, one of the mates says, "Charlie, are you going to show us your new car?"

    Charlie replies, "What new car?"

He'd been so pissed that he'd bought a 205GTi 1.9, and hadn't remembered. As it was, the car was in superb condition and a great price. I bet he wishes he'd kept it now...

FWIW, he didn't drive it anywhere- the seller brought it round.

A chap I've dealt with a couple of times bought a classic Dodge Charger on eBay (whilst drunk I believe). He decided to make a YouTube channel out of it.
