    Grand Seiko SBGW267 vs SBGW291

Interested to hear any opinions about these 2 models.

I think both are very smart, simple and would wear well in the office. Though the case design for the 291 does make it quite "sparkly" with angled polished surfaces.

I’m not familiar with either but, all other things being equal (size, movement, cost etc) I’d go for the 291, no question.

They’re both stunning. The 291 obviously has the OG case but I would be fearful of those expanses of zaratsu polishing and don’t know if I could handle the risk and then live with the inevitable scratches. I think I prefer the double quartile indices too so
my pick would be the 267.

I had a 267 very briefly. Can't explain why but it was less than the sum of its parts to me. The dial is incredible and I can see the appeal.

267; the 291 is obdurately luggy. Design grammar, design schmammer.

Those are both excellent choices, I'd be happy to own either of them.

I'd say that the 44GS case is more dressy and the round case a little more casual, especially on the brown strap.

Personally I think the 44GS is a design classic and it works much better on the slim manual wind (or quartz) cases than the spring drive or mechanical models.

The 291 looks unmistakably like a Grand Seiko, the 267 looks more like a classic European dress watch.

Can't go wrong really. Wrist shots when you have one please!

The 44GS leave me cold. Designed by function not heart IMO.

I have the SGBW283 and it’s a delight in every aspect. The incredible dial, the hands, the case shape - all the GS features I’ve wanted, in one model.

They need to be tried on to rule in or out.
