Thread: If you won £100M Euromillions jackpot, which watch(es) would you buy? and why?

  1. #51
I’d definitely get something custom but wearable in a low key kind of way.

I like the idea of an Artisans de Geneve designed modern 1016. I don’t think that would cost more than £40k though. I guess I need to find something to spend the rest on.

I can't contain the excitement to find out which.

if you're bothered I might want to post something for sale, sorry to burst your bubble but i've got no current plans to sell anything on here.

really don't understand why you and a few of your pals have taken umbrage, as I thought the idea of a forum was to post stuff ?
You've suddenly started to post profusely after over a year of contributing very little. This is commonly seen when somebody has something to sell, and there have been no end of examples where an unusually chatty member suddenly loses the same level of interest at 250 posts. In a large unmoderated community it is to be expected that some will comment on such activity so it's best to develop a thick skin in these parts.

Would I spend any time at all on a watch forum?

I would buy 'six' RM. It's only the poor people that only have 'one'.

Simple answer: a blue dial, platinum IWC Mk XII. I'd have to find one second hand. And I'd have a lot of change.

Thanks for the pragmatic common sense of your post.

I really don't have any current plans to sell anything, and take on board being thick skinned. (I was more keen to get to 50 so I could see what was for sale.)

(However take on board that maybe some people would post incessantly to try and reach 250 if they had something to sell.)

I just had a bit of time to kill, and didn't realise there was quite a lot of interesting topics on the forum, so started posting.

i'm not bothered by the Naysayers or NIMBY's... it's water off a ducks back.

I started this thread because i thought it'd be interesting and i might come across some new watches i'd not heard of.... and I have.

American release of the JLC memovox tribute to deep sea alarm.

And finally the GO Original 70s chronograph with orange dial on bracelet & rubber.

Think along with my pre-existing stash that would be me done so id then turn my attention to having a Frank Lloyd Wright designed house built in Scotland with a safe to keep them all in.

    One can dream I suppose!
Nice selection, I like the tropical Pepsi you chose.

I presume the MOP 50 fathoms is for your wife/girlfriend/ mistress ? as agree with you it's pretty gross to my eyes, (but my misses likes it.)

Also £100M won't be enough to resurrect people from the dead !! - Frank Lloyd Wright was prolific in the early 20th century, and died approx 60 years ago.

(However with £100M you could buy one of his portfolio, dismantle it, ship it, and have it rebuilt in Scotland!)

    Win £100m?

Mother-in-law does do Euromillions sometimes, so it is possible.

Instantly buy a Smurf. I love my 16610, and crave the blue colour. Then buy a new bracelet for my 16610.

    Watchwise after that:

    - one of those TV dial GOs, probably the tiffany blue one that Verv chose
    - A Nautilus with the dark blue dial, probably the moonphase version
    - A Ressence
    - Co-axial speedy with the date

That will do as a start. Priority will be income and charity.

There isn't really a mega money watch that appeals to me but something that's out of my current financial reach but which I think is gorgeous is the Green dialled gold speedmaster

I'd agree with you on that one. I've owned and subsequently sold a speedy but that green and gold one is a beauty.

I would buy all 3 - and combine the blue dial with the blue bezel from the white gold and have them put in the stainless steel to make the perfect blue stainless steel sub without a cyclops.

Intersting idea, a Blue stainless Sub.

You could just buy the steel sub, and get the AD to supply and fit a blue bezel and blue dial..... same outcome.

Only one watch. A steel Daytona (Paul Newman) tri colour Panda. That would do nicely.
