Late to the party on this brand, but feel strangely drawn to this for an inexpensive, holiday mechanical

That new longines carbon looks ace

Have to agree on price, might come up in a sale though is my thinking.
Never noticed the fixed bezel either - confusing to say the least.

I can't agree more.
Why have Longines fixed the bezel and cheapened the quality of the watch with an aluminium bezel insert?
The steel version's sapphire insert is a work of art, and the bezel action is up there with the best of them. I like the weight of it too. The steel variant is simply a lovely watch.
Is the steel version as good as say a Seiko Marinemaster 300? It's not. It's better IMHO.

It's cool but to get there if you want a carbon/composite/plastic watch you have to get past the Red Bull FXD surely
I've never understood why they married The Muppets (comedy) with their ProPilot watch (serious).
Surely it would've been more suited to their pointer date watch?
I spotted a brightly coloured IWC Pilot when in town today and thought I hadn’t seen the model before.
Turns out IWC have released 3 new 2025 watches already and the Pilot I spotted was one of these. Quite nice and in Ti too

Brilliant.
I could go into Goldsmiths and look at the Kermit and ask “do you have the miss Piggy” It would be like being in the Blues Brothers.
Cheers,

I like the look of these. Hopefully the UK price isn't too high.

I am very much the first to criticise throw away non-maintainable plastic watches that are just landfill waiting to happen.
And I am also one of the first to complain about the dumbing down of high quality brands.
But these seem to be different, with a proper steel caseback and they're therefore a maintainable watch.
Plus, the Bulova Snorkel was never a Fifty fathoms, it was always a mid-level waterproof watch. So a Bio-ceramic version of a lower tier vintage watch that is made better than the re-creations of the higher-end brands is a win-win.
Good on 'em (even if the Teal version is gopping)
Ha ha, you could be right!
I was only thinking the other day after post processing one of my 3D resin prints that I could quite easily print a watch case that wouldn’t look dissimilar to some of the commercial stuff.
Perhaps in the future we’ll just be able to download a .STL file and print the watch…
Yeah
Ceramic is more noble and I feel it can uphold the 350 price tag. For a quartz.
Fun but made seriously.
Man, I really appreciate what Citizen are doing with Bulova (and Citizen too for that matter!).
Shame I am not comfortable with ceramic and large sizes but you can't have your watch and wear it.

Looks like a 222 in steel is on the way.

Yep, think it'll sell very well if it's priced right.
And in the UK the steel 222 is £30,800. I like the way they added £800, almost as if £30k isn’t an entirely random number.

Very few of the VC movements have a hacking complication.
Yet they put one in this watch that doesn't have a second hand.
As above, at £6.5k more than the Overseas, it's a bit pricey IMO but I suspect they are going to sell as many they make and it'll hold it's value on the secondary market. I'd have hoped for them to do a Breguet and drop to more affordable levels, but I can't see it with this one. Although I live in hope that the measly 50m WR puts off all the water sports enthusiasts that make up 95% of the watch market.
I had no idea the gold is 71k!!!
Another from Omega. Yes, another Speedmaster. The Speedy Moonphase meteorite dial at a mouth watering £16k.

Sadly, it does get more silly.
Here's another fairly new model at over £90k. I love the look of it but the price is farcical.

I just can’t believe they’ve priced it this way. Painfully high. I think I could just about stomach say 16-20k. But 30k…you can just about get chocolate-dial rose- gold Daytonas for that level. Surely the steel 222 will trade below list just like the yellow gold version. All in good time.
Nonetheless, I’ve got my name down for one. Let’s see what happens…
