Swatch/Omega are there any fakes about ?

My son has been offered a Mission to Mercury for £50 complete with box, sounds to cheap to me but I have no idea how to differentiate a OEM from a fake if there are fakes.

Lots of fakes. Usually the giveaway is the top right subdial is actually a 24hr register, not a 1/10 second as it should be.

£50 is about right for one (£30 on AliExpress), so it's obviously not the real thing.

There are definitely fakes about (I received one from an AliExpress seller from whom I had ordered a sterile dial watch - I did get a full refund after complaining).

Yes as others have said plenty of fakes about and no reason for someone to be selling that cheap if its real.

It look fake. Ask the seller to send you a video of the crown out and the hour and minute hands turning. If the 10th of a second hand (right side) totaliser hand turns, it's a 24 hour totaliser and therefore a fake as snowman has pointed out.

Was on Aliexpress yesterday looking at a number of them.

Some with generic names and some with the Omega name. Debating on a generic name model

Was also looking at the maurice lacroix aikon tide, but all fake name models. Would have bought if a generic or no name as I like the orange/black model better than the Omega one

Be aware that some of the 'generic name' clones are mocked up on AliExpress and you will receive an Omega/Swatch branded fake.

Having now done a little "research" now I think if I was to buy one it would have to be in store to be 100% safe.
