It sounds like an obvious thing to say but at the very least have it looked at. Personally I would drop it into Swatch Group and let them take a look. I have spoken with the Glashutte team in the UK service centre and they were very helpful.
I have a Senator Moonphase panorama date coming up to 5 years old. The crown is very difficult to turn to wind the watch although when pulled out to access other functions it’s fine + keeps good time. If it’s kept on a winder all is well but if it runs down then winding it is a problem.
Should I get it serviced at about £600 or just wait until it packs up?

Waiting for it to break properly = bigger bill.
Get it serviced ya numnut
I would get it looked at now.
Yes I guess so. Should have bought a quartz….
I know nothing about these watches, never got involved with them, but this sounds like a reverser problem. If the watch has been stored on a winder the auto- winding mechanism will have led a busy life! Bite the bullet, get it serviced, think carefully about using a winder in future.
Visited WoS Knightsbridge today- only gaff in London selling Glashutte now that Wempe has closed. First question asked ‘do you have an appointment?’ I didn’t as I wasn’t expecting to be asked. However after some fuss I was taken downstairs to the service dept. Coffee was forthcoming. They do have a watch repairer down there but as expected it’s got to go home to Germany. Bummer and am expecting at least £600 lighter in due course.
WOS tell me that apart from the crown issue the oils have dried out so it’s off to Germany. I thought modern oils don’t suffer from this so much so I’m surprised as it’s not yet 5 years old.
Has it seen much use, or does it sit around?
