Generous offer and thanks, but I'm pretty sure we've drawn a line under turkey now.

After many years of getting a crown now we get from the local butchers a 3Kg turkey roll made from breast from turkeys from chile, brazil and EU apparently all stuffed and brined in a bag you cook it in the bag and its 1000% juicier than a crown about £10 a kilo - feeds about 10 ppl.

20lb fresh turkey from the local butcher, cooked for 3.5hrs in the aga. Absolutely lovely and worth the >£100 price tag.

(MM600 worn for carving duties naturally)

We had a 12lb turkey crown from M&S and I have to say that it was delicious.

75 mins each top up and down under foil, then 30 minutes to brown.
Rest for an hour and it carved perfectly.

It fed 5, with the same amount for nibbling tomorrow.

We are not fans of the dark meat or turkey leg, so for us this works well.

However you like your bird, enjoy 

I have a great suspicion that the £150 Morrison Turkey was a neat marketing ploy to get them in the news. We had a decent Turkey crown which SWMBO worked wonders with. Beef today which I am looking forward to more.
Have a good day boys and girls!

Here in St. Affordshire Anna bought a frozen turkey for us, about 10 days before the big day, maybe 8 days... 15lb bird and she paid £17 for it. Bliddy handsome it was too.

Those who have mentioned goose, I always used to go to Fife and shoot a goose for our Christmas, I would come home with a brace at least so we had one for Easter too. It is a bit far for me to travel now, so back to farmed turkey for us, but goose is a fabulous meat, but a lot more work to cook.
