I tend to regret buying some rather than selling it. If I came to sell it there’s always a reason, and I’ve never sold a watch I still really liked, but I have had a rush of blood and purchased without really thinking whether it was a temporary lust or something longer term I would actually wear, e.g. Bulgari octo chrono

    16613 Submariner.

I adored this watch for years and I still do. I just HAD to have it.

But when I got it, I didn't feel comfortable wearing gold in my early 30's. It was too ostentatious.

So I went to 16610 steel Sub and never looked back.

But it wasn't the fault of the watch. It has one of the nicest dials ever.

Not buying a UN Freak from Harrods in London.

the staff couldn't have been more helpful and despite not having a clue about who I was were more than happy to let me try it on, have a long chat about the watch and others and were just very welcoming. With it not being a special or on sale I decided to have a think about it (other purchases were on the horizon) and then life got in the way. On my next visit to London I had every intention of going back to Harrods to buy one and discovered that they'd stopped selling UN. The nearest dealer was Watches of Switzerland on Brompton Road. Had a polar opposite experience. Not very friendly, generally dismissive and they had no stock but were supposed to give me a call back to let me know how long it would take to get one. No phone call received and now four months have passed.

Was offered a new ND sub in 2017 at list in the bullring. Was £5400, thought I might prefer the GS diver SD at £4k. Bought neither through procrastination now my £4k barely buys a bag of sweets so my wrist says empty 😂

Wow! Just wow. You have exemplary taste, and are living proof that there's no such thing as a 'Keeper'!

    Hope you're keeping well?

    Thanks!

Those are my main "regrets" after buying and selling for 20 years.

I'm having good days and bad days, but doing well.
