    Military style quartz, cheap

A good friend of mine is looking for the above for his elderly father. At 93 he doesn’t move enough to justify an automatic and budget is best described as constrained.
36 mm is probably close to ideal but main criteria is legibility. Hence the idea of a military style.
In contradiction to the above, a moon phase would be a welcome addition as the recently diseased one had one.
Decent water resistance a plus as forgets to remove it for a shower
Over to you, gents (and Ms C.)

Off the top of my head (without moon phase) Timex Expedition, MWC G10 style, plus a few Citizen Ecodrives may fit the bill. All could be had under 200 nicker.

CWC GS SONAR WATCH or CWC GS SAPPHIRE SUBHUNTER BLK, used.

Marathon more generally, Luminox or Vitorinox.

    Lorus

    Or even Swatch!

Good suggestions all, thank you. If you have a few moon phase options…

    Citizen AP1053-23W?

Granted it is not the size requested nor the style...

    Or else the Rotary GS05325/01?

This is a great watch, or similar. Might have to look out the window for the moonphase however.

Ray Mears 2, as just discussed. Nominally 40mm but wears smaller, perfect WR and nice and light being titanium.

Have a look at Enoksen watches, they have a few military style quartz but none with a moonphase complication.

No moonphase but I’d suggest a BM6400- can pick sh ones up for around £60

I was going to suggest that too, unfortunately no moon phase but otherwise ideal I would have imagined?

    I highly recommend the GWS G10 diver....https://www.militarywatchshop.co.uk/...diver-lithium/
Fantastic legibility and build, H3 tritium illumination, Ronda Lithium (10 year battery) movement..picked one up in January and not left my wrist...in fact I picked up one of their chrono's recently as I was so impressed..sorry no moonphase

    Moon complication makes it difficult.

Obvious solution . Apple watch . I'll get my coat

Otherwise WMT, Smiths, Hamilton, for military, or Smiths Aventurine 25 would be a suitable play on the stars.

Not really military, but Victorinox make a Swiss Army Alliance. It's 35mm, quartz and moonphase. May find one of those for a good price, they were around £500 new I believe.

W Hamond have them on the bracelet for £539 minus 15% with the code: https://whamond.com/products/victori...lliance-241752
