anyone recommend tees with a good tight collar that doesnt sag, so if you are wearing it underneath a sweatshirt or similar itll stay in the same spot.

Should have gone for the thicker ones

Uniqlo have definitely reduced in quality. I have some black supina which are probably five years old and still OK. Some more recently purchased ones are already in the bin.
    The Rapanui ones are better.

The U fit however is a bit odd and not one I like. Sometimes you can also have too thick and lacks breathability. But I mentioned above, in general Uniqlo's t-shirt quality is definitely down.

Not impressed. Shapeless and a horrible neckline. Returned.

    Really helpful. Thanks a lot!
Uniqlo and Nike are the best T-shirt vendors, my humble opinion.

I bought white ones from Spoke and they were good - but pricey.

One of my kids suggested Tommy Hilfiger (there were some big discounts at Bicester village), and these have worn and washed well and were quite cheap too. Thicker than the Spoke ones, but really soft and comfortable. subtle logo stitched onto chest that is barely visible (I can't stand having a brand plastered across my chest)
    Much appreciated

For £7 there’s nothing wrong with them?

The packaging alone on some of my T shirts must cost more than these?

Ideal for layers, daytime pool shirt, BBQ, jet washing the motors etc

This thread reminded me that I needed some more for exactly the same use. My current ones were Dickies and I do buy a size smaller to get the snug collar and they have remained so after numerous wearings and washes. I bought a three pack but these were described as being Dickies "Whittington" tee shirts which turned out to be the thinnest ones I've ever seen. Literally half the weight of my previous ones. The sizing seemed big too so the collar wasn't as snug even with a size smaller than normal. Can't be bothered to return them though.

I ordered 3, nowt wrong with the neckline on mine and seem OK for the price. Haven't washed them yet so may yet be disappointed.

As above, Rapanui very disappointing. Significant shrinkage (mostly length) after 1 wash (I followed their washing instructions). I have contacted them, they are covering returns postage, and they will "sort it for me" - I assume a refund.

I also tried the Rapanui. I didn't get as far as washing as I ordered white and they were too thin/see through for me so they went straight back.

I ordered some white GILDAN Mens Hammer Heavyweight T-Shirts on Amazon and for the price have been really impressed.

    Decent quality t-shirts?

I love sunspel classic Ts £80 is a bit strong though.

I was a fan of reiss, however they have gone downhill.

Form & thread make nice t shirts, the fit doesn’t’t suit me though.

Looking online, they're of a tubular construction & don't have side-seams. They'll twist and/or go baggy in short order.

Just received one of these on sale from John Lewis, must say really very nice, heavy weight cotton, nice tight neckline and not too long, I will be buying more.

I’ve got a few Sunspel t shirts and I find them a bit disappointing - especially when you consider the price. Nice material but the fit isn’t great and the ribbing around the neck is excessively stiff.

    Polos are good though.

For wearing as an underlayer, these t-shirts from Muji are fantastic. Great collar and they wash really well.

They come in white, black and grey and go down to half price in the sales.

Find their sizing odd. Have both M and L (polos and T’s) but hardly any difference between them.

They have survived a few washes so far but at £5 delivered each I'm sure they won't be the best but compared to other cheap T-shirts I've been impressed. Maybe I'll check back in after 10-20 washes.
Personal favourites have been from Asket but at £35 + postage it's a big step up in price.

If you’re on the cusp go up rather than down as they’re reasonably fitted.

My Uniqlo Supina try-outs are are soft and comfortable, but 4 or 5 washes in they're starting to twist in the body, which adds to the previously mentioned disappointment on thinness - though I did buy white.
Never heard of Sunspel before, and at their price point I seriously doubt I'll ever be trying them.
Muji look like being my next purchase - thanks LTF

Got a few different brands and I though Asket were the best.

Good fit, thicker quality feel, no branding which I liked.

    Decent quality t-shirts?

Asket make some nice stuff, sizing is a bit tricky so bear that in mind.

I like their shirts too and might have a go at a pair of jeans too.

Discount for blue light / DD holders too.

Has anyone tried the Crew Clothing Polo shirts recently?

My wife has a lot of their older polos and 'rugby top' style jumpers and they seem like decent quality stuff.

Their classic mens polos are £30 each which although not 'cheap', is reasonable if they don't look like a stretched dishrag after a couple of washes - which is what all of the other polos I have tried lately seem to do.

I’ve got two crew T-shirts but not in ideal colours as they were £3.50 or £3.75 from JL on sale.

God quality and fit, would go in for more. No idea on the old stuff and any differences.

    Lovely, thank you.
    That will do for me.

Ordered x6 for the summer. Fingers crossed they will not end up as dusters after a couple of washes!

Used to wear loads of crew polos. Their sizing between styles / seasons is all over the place and line you are shopping between brands.

Length and pit sizes have changed so much as to be a joke. I don’t bother with them now which is a shame as the quality was spot on. May have come back to some form of normality in recent years but just got fed up returning more than I kept.

They are OK but expensive for man made fabric.

Have a look at ISOBAA merino T-shirts. Excellent quality and available for around £30 from Sports Pursuit.

I usually buy from Next. But they are not a tight collar which I prefer and for some reason only the black last a long time. Other colours seem to bobble.

Will follow up some of the recommendations above.

May give Uniqlo a go or JLP. Although JLP may be a bit too high end for me!

We used to supply the Uneek brand to our staff. They were worked hard (shirts, not the staff!) and survived well. Depends if you want fashion or wearability. The brand come in several "weights",( eg. We supplied 200 gsm)

    https://www.totalworkwear.co.uk/t-sh...irt-uc302.html

so can be varied for summer and winter use.

    https://www.totalworkwear.co.uk/t-shirts.html

    Shipping rates are reasonable:-

    https://www.totalworkwear.co.uk/work...-rates-uk.html

    They also do logos etc.
