    Winter safe driving!

    Really:-

    I just don't believe it!

    Clickbait

It's just clickbait. Nothing in there that isn't part of the highway code, which is often just guidance rather than law.

Most of the EDP is clickbait but some of it is worth noting. Last year I was almost taken out by an elderly lady driving on the wrong side of the road, in a new car, completely misted up. She had no idea how to use the demister control!

That is what I am saying. These rules have long been in place. You see the same chaos every year with letterbox views out of frosty windscreens.

The EDP is the biggest load of sh*te out there. Garbage newspaper which was once the pinnacle of reporting.

Nonetheless, times you observe other drivers attempting to drive without having cleared windows of frost/misting is scary.

One of nicest feature of EV is ability to switch on heating, window and mirror clearing from comfort of indoors before setting off. Warm steering wheel when it’s freezing is a revelation.

Never had a heated steering wheel, never an issue.

    In winter gloves are useful.

They certainly are. But the highway code wants you to wear appropriate gloves. For example, wearing oven gloves might impede your ability to properly control the steering wheel. A warm hat is also nice. Just make sure you don't pull it down over your eyes before operating a motor vehicle, or the highway code may have something to say about it.

Neither had I, but like auto windscreen wipers you appreciate the convenience and miss it if not available.

I can do that on my 2015 diesel XC90.

It's the tarts who leave the car unattended on the street or driveway, with the engine and demisters going, that make me laugh. "Where's my car gone?"

Same except steering wheel, but less convenient than tapping app.

I can do it with an app, it’s not new or EV only.

My XC90 did that from the app, including the heated steering wheel. Lovely.

A two litre bottle of warm water has always been a winner for me. Quick defrost, clear windows and lights, job done. Never had a problem.
