Just got my Seiko 7A38 out of the safe to change the battery and rear case seal. Popped it on my wrist and thought "Why do I need any other watches?"! I then stepped into the half light of the hallway and struggled to read it (busy dial!)! That aside, I still love it and shall wear it for a while to give my Valjoux 7750 a rest! Where's that box of eggs? I need to time something!

They’re fantastic watches and I’ve had multiple 7A28/38’s over the years. Have always had one or more in the collection and probably always will. This is the current crop and they seem to run forever and will no doubt probably see me out.

Some great examples there. My current 7A38-7240 (gold and Stainless from April 87) seems so light on the wrist after my Valjoux. I've been doing a lot of DIY and car fettling since my retirement and such a "looker" was too precious! Mine is similar to:-

They were also ridiculously affordable on the second hand market up until a few years ago, but they seem to be getting noticeably more expensive on Ebay and similar places.
It would be churlish of me not to contribute something to this thread.Of course I wear a 7A38, or 7A38 based watch almost every day and have done so for the last dozen years and more, since 're-discovering' my original watch at the end of 2008. These are a couple of the watches I wore earlier this week. All are what I'd class as 'second string' (I have better condition examples in my collection):
Saturdays are reserved for what's probably my favourite non-Seiko branded 7A38 - The Yema Spationaute III Aragatz. I'm wearing this nice example with the commemorative mission flags dial this morning:
There are lots more flavours to choose from - both Seiko and other brands. If you want to get a feel for the variety, try browsing through the 20-odd pages of my forum's WRUW thread.

I sold my 7A28 (same as jneds' last one but without the original strap) on eBay a while back and it went for close to £600.

My favourites are the black dial ones as my old eyes struggle with the gold dials, particularly as the light colour of the lume blends in with the background.
