When I was 13 it was Geno Washington and The Ram Jam Band - Hand Clappin', Foot Stompin', Funky-Butt...Live.
At 17 it was The Who - Live At Leeds.

Fleetwood Mac Live. And not just because I was there for some of the recording - Stafford Bingley Hall, June 1980.

Live at Leeds- captured them perfectly. Amps hissing, cacophany and just rocks. Supposedly Live at Hull (rec the night before) is better
Wattstax - The living word. Issac Hayes doing Ain’t no sunshine for 17minutes in front of 250,000.
Epic.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

Quickly scanned the thread, didn’t see Rock of Ages by the Band. Absolute cracker of an album by the best bar band of all time. The extended and remastered Live At The Academy Of Music is worth a listen, and I encourage anyone who’s not overly familiar with The Band to give it a listen.
Otherwise, yeah, Live At Leeds. The other gig they recorded to release as a live album was at Hull university, which is also now available, and somehow, they’re just a little bit better! The Who at their absolute zenith.
Stand In The Fire by Warren Zevon, Live At The Star Club by Jerry Lee Lewis, and If You Want Blood by Acca Dacca are all joint third!

Caroline Mas - Mas Hysteria
Mother's Finest – Mother's Finest Live
Unfortunately, En Vogue never released a proper live album. Their shows were epic.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
Status Quo Live at the Apollo Glasgow 1976 on Vertigo Records. Absolute barnstormer from the original and best line up with a great intro. If you know you know.
Great thread too.
Just looking through my LPs for something to put on, I happened on a 'sensational' live album I'd forgotten about and which I don't think has been mentioned - SAHB live, with the cracking version of Delilah featuring some awesome guitar work from Zal Cleminson.
I’ll join in
Donald Byrd - Dominoes
https://youtu.be/m5_aXrjAh-w
Rush, All The World's A Stage
All great choices & for me impossible to choose a favourite.
I'll throw these into the ring
Marillion - Made Again and All One Tonight
Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere
Scorpions - Tokyo Tapes
Saxon - The Eagle Has Landed
Rush - Rush in Rio
Pink Floyd - The Delicate Sound of Thunder
Joe Bonamassa - Live From Nowhere in Particular - Justified for India / Mountain Time Alone
Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live
Andy
Wanted - Damasko DC57
That Maze ‘album’ is rarely to far from my CD player, totally brilliant.

How could I forget Live! Live! Live! by Bryan Adams? I saw him on that tour and the audience engagement that he got was second to none.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
Oh, forgot about that one.
One of my favourite tracks, ever.

Hanx - Stiff Little Fingers
The cover of Marley's 'Johnny Was' is utterly brilliant. No, Jake could never sing, but the intensity of the performance more than makes up for that.
Gratitude - Eath, Wind and Fire
Live at The Sands - Frank Sinatra
The little known Prodigy Unplugged is a work of genius…
Very good lol
That reminds me of the excellent Death Metal cover of John Cage's 4'33"

Oooh. Tricky one. A few of my favourites have already been mentioned (including Metallica’s “S&M” and Nils Lofgren live, glad to see those represented!)
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, “Live Seeds” is a go-to album for me, I also love “Idiot Prayer” which, while live, is devoid of crowd noise on account of there not being a crowd…
Springsteen: “MTV (Un)plugged” is great, as is “Live in Dublin” with the Seeger Sessions band.
Anthrax “Kings Among Scotland” is monumental, but requires a certain mood.
Among the classics, I think you have to go a long way to beat either Blossom Dearie’s “Blossom Time at Ronnie Scott’s” or “Darin at the Copa” for sheer atmosphere.
I’m really not a huge fan of live albums but Underworlds Everything, Everything is amazing.
As an old raver there are also a million and one live ‘tape packs’ that I could listen to and relive the old days from my comfy chair.
I have a couple of bits by Keith Jarrett, but hadn’t heard this…. I downloaded it and finally listened to it today
What a wonderful album…. Thank you for the recommendation
He’s up there with Bill Evans for mastery of the piano…. Such rhythm, expression and touch
Live applause on albums always sounds like rain!

I remember seeing Bebop deluxe in Edinburgh and their support act was a flock of seagulls. Complete with mad hairdos.
Sade...coming home
Rush: A Show of Hands
This live album and the VHS tape defined my youth. The video version is actually recorded in England (Birmingham NEC).
Just brilliant.
Portishead live at the Roseland NYC

Fleetwood Mac The Dance
AC/DC Live
All Them Witches -- Live at AB -- Ancient Belgique https://youtu.be/tPZODCWrUN8
You can also buy it on Bandcamp, so I class it as a live album!
Pink Floyd pulse for me. Gilmour at his best
Eric Clapton - Unplugged
but also:
Toto - 35th Anniversary: Live In Poland
Alice in Chains - MTV Unplugged
One I forget from my earlier post - Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes - Live At The Greek
If you like Led Zeppelin & have not heard this, you really must.
It honestly blew me away. I liked The Black Crowes before, but this took them up several notches in my opinion.
Andy
Wanted - Damasko DC57
Most of my faves already mentioned, but I'll also add:
Bryan Ferry - Live in Lyon
Another couple from my youth (recently rediscovered) from the phenomenal Captain Speedfingers:
Ten Years After - Recorded Live
Alvin Lee - In Flight
Enjoy
Jake
One I've just listened to again recently for the first time in a while: Fields of the Nephilim - Earth Inferno.
I know their "gothiness" was the subject of much mockery but there's no doubting the quality of the musicianship.
Bob Seger, Live Bullet. It broke him wide open in the US. Just a great album in his hometown of Detroit
I'll get this; been blasting his greatest hits for the past week.
