    Buckle help

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255745496...senceViewModel

Can anyone shed any light on the price and quality or this please. I have no idea if it looks right or not and if the price is good or not.

    Thanks

Price is crazy in my opinion!

Much as I like vintage Omegas I couldn’t bring myself to pay this for a buckle. 9ct gold will always need shining up with a rouge cloth to remove tarnish too.

As you can see, according to eBay the seller is excellent.

As for the buckle, it sounds/looks good, too. If you have a 9kt watch, buy it. Even if it's a copy, it looks like a very good one and nobody will ever know the difference, anyway.

I wouldn't put it on an 18kt watch, though.

(I have an 18kt gold 1966 Constellation Pie Pan. The nearest solid gold buckle I could find for it was a copy from the Far East. So, it has a plated copy, which does the job. If I ever come across the 'right' one, I'll buy it. In the meantime, better plated than 9kt.)

I have an identical 9ct gold buckle on an 18ct Constellation, the gold is a slightly different colour but that doesn’t bother me, when the watch is on the wrist I can only see one side at once so the mismatch doesn’t put me off. I acquired the buckle with a 9ct Seamaster Deville which is now on a gold bracelet.

Personally I wouldn’t pay a lot for a buckle. I was happy using the Omega gold plated items which were readily available for under £20 until recently but are now harder to source. Gold plated old style fakes with raised logo are available but the quality of the plating is likely to be poor.

If a 9ct buckle can sell for over £200 maybe I should sell mine!

    NOS Zenith SS buckle.

Picked up a NOS Zenith SS buckle from 'you know where' with the old square logo to match the crown logo on my newly acquired EP HW.

The square logo was discontinued in 2000 I'm lead to believe.

But is the buckle pre 2000 ????.....it looks brand spanking.

    Thanks for that.

I started looking for a blue 18mm strap with deployment saw this loved it and thought it would look good on a blue strap.

    This one actually
