    Autumn 2022 SOTC

It's been a while since I posted one of these. Not much activity this year, two incoming, no outgoing. Some will be familiar with my little collection but some may not so I'll include a little background on each.

Patek 5146J, 2006 This will never leave my collection as it was bought in memory of my mother. Also the functions mean when I reach the end of my days I’ll still know what day, date and even month it is.

Patek 7234G, 2022. Is my latest acquisition. Bought August 2022 and now mine. Full box and papers. I have been looking at these since 2019 and now found one available and at the right price.

Rolex Air-King-Date, 1978. My Dad’s old watch so again not going anywhere. Smallest watch in my collection – it had a service in 2015 and doesn't get much wrist time because of the non-quickset date.

Vacheron Constantine Overseas 4500V, 2019. This has the ingenious strap changing system and comes with the VC bracelet and two straps for different occasions. This has been in the sea on it's rubber strap as I do like to wear my watches. Superb finish and bought before the stratospheric jump in prices, we will see how this lasts.

Rolex 116610LV Submariner, 2019. Love it or hate it - I love it. Green dial is chameleon like. Maxi case, workhorse 3125 movement.

Rolex 126655 Yacht Master 40, 2020, in Rose(lor) Gold with matt black ceramic bezel, fully adjustable bracelet clasp on this newest version with the 3235. I just love this one, on so many levels.

Rolex 124060 Submariner, 2020. Classic Rolex - no fuss, no date just form and function and perfect shaped case.

Omega 300m Professional NTTD SE 2021. Full Titanium on Titanium and I've also added the Nato that matches it. This is a super comfy watch to wear and legibility is excellent in all conditions as it includes full illumination bezel markers as well as dial and hands.

Omega X33 329.15.00 Mk2 2020. This was bought from the forum, again Titanium initially supplied on the corduroy Omega strap I purchases the Ti bracelet for it which it now lives. Super comfortable and fits me well. This is my goto watch for garden work. Only quartz in my collection now.

Panerai PAM01661 Carbotech 2022. Bought new this year. Initially went to buy a 42mm Pam but ended up with this beauty. This is the largest watch in my collection and at the limit I comfortably wear but it still feels ok. Very light compared to its steel companions. Comes with Pam rubber as well as blue stitched strap.

    And a group shot

I hope you enjoyed this and I'll try to answer any questions. Comments most welcome. Let's see what next year brings (in the watch world) as I think I will continue to concentrate on quality over quantity. Martyn

    Cracking collection there, Martyn!

They only one that is not to my taste is the 5146, but I can obviously see the appeal.

The rest? I'd be happy with any of them in the collection.

    What next?

Wonderful and varied collection. Especially love the contrast between the two Pateks. Curious to know where you’d go from here.

Could there be some consolidation into an Aquanaut to round out a perfect 3 patek collection?

A wonderful collection from someone who’s clearly had an eye on his retirement plans for a good old while. Well done, Martyn, and I hope alls going well for you both out there.

Great collection, can't get my head around PP yet but there is time. Move them plastic raisin things on that wrist band away from the NTTD please, I'm scared they will mark it.

Strong collection Martyn. Not everyday you see a collection with two Pateks and a VC. Thanks for sharing.

How does the VC wear Vs the Sub 41?

Thanks for sharing, a great collection. Where is the month indicator on your PP 5146J, I thought these were annual calendars?

Great collection indeed Martyn. Very diversified too.

You mention quality over quantity - anything you intend to add/remove? Anything you’d ‘like’ to add it maybe can’t easily?

Lovely collection. Nice variety but it also makes sense as a whole; it seems well thought out. All keepers imo but that Air King is my favourite 😍

That's a fantastic collection, all lovely and all different enough to keep the rotation very fresh.

Stunning collection Martyn. I think my favourites are the VC and the Yachtmaster, though I'd be delighted to own any of them.

That latest Patek is certainly something special. I'm probably biased but my favourite is the Air-King-Date, simple understated elegance.

Martyn what a fantastic collection! Clearly we have e similar taste.
For me the only difference would be i’d go Aerospace over the Omaha Quartz. But a great collection, I hope your retirement is going well and you are loving Portugal!

Love the 5146, but for me it’s a toss up between the VC and the yacht master.

I’ve tried an Aquanaut before the prices went silly. And slightly underwhelmed. Maybe a DJ36 in blue - a modern version of my father’s airking?

Cheers. Still settling in here. At least we have AirCon now, last winter no heating which was a shock.

VC wears larger and I think is a little bigger across lug-lug.

Monthe indicator is at 1:30pm - the top right dial if you take a close look. Here is a better photo.

As many others have said, a lovely collection there - we clearly have very similar tastes. There are none there that I would not be happy to wear, you must feel very pleased to have achieved such a group of watches.
    Congratulations to you mate.

Impressive collection. I would not know which to wear each morning.

Nice collection. If I could pick one of those to add to what I have, I would go for the RG YM on a rubber strap.

Great collection. The VC would be my pick. That said it must be quite a conundrum every time you go in the watchbox.

It does add a few mins to the start of day. NB: Wiltshire is a favourite county of mine, Westbury in particular.

    Thanks!

And to the other comments also.

I have to say the 7234 has not left my wrist (except for sorting out the chicken shed in the garden). It is so legible, day and night. What more can you want from a wrist watch. Where function meets form and what a superb form it is. If Calsberg made watches....

Whilst it's not to my taste, the 7234 was a real catch!.
