That's sad, loved his appearances in various Comic Strip episodes.

RIP Robbie. That's a real genuine shock. I enjoyed Cracker and Hagrid as well as Samuel Johnson in Blackadder.

He made a great show called Coltranes, planes and automobiles in the mid 90s. Each episode was on a different type of engine. Very engaging presenter.

A larger than life character in every way.

I remember seeing him in Glasgow in the 80’s wearing a shocking pink Teddy Boy suit, just before he made his big break in Tutti Frutti.

    RIP big man.

RIP. Fantastic actor. The first time I saw him was in Nuns on the Run, which is a brilliant film.

    RIP big fella.

Genuinely saddened to hear this today.
Loved him in Cracker and remember well his series about combustion engines and transport.
Convincing, likeable and easy to listen to.
He was in the video for Kate Bush’s “Deeper Understanding” and did backing vocals on “Waking the witch” from “Hounds of Love”

As our northern brethren have already said…
    Rest in Peace big man

Never watched Cracker, but remember him fondly from his Comic Strip appearances. And Tutti Frutti, remember that? Oh yes and the two Bond films he did, of course. Sad news.

Miriam Margolyes just on the Today programme talking about her friend Robbie.
She was following Jeremy Hunt who was in the ten past eight slot.
She said “I said to him, You’ve got a hell of a job, Best of luck. What I really wanted to say was Fuck you, you bastard”

That lady is a National Treasure!

Also very sad new on Mr Cotrane, but he was 72, had ill health for 2 years and wasnt exactly fit and healthy before that either.

Have a mate whos actually taller but thankfully not as stout, has a big bushy beard and is nicknamed Hagrid, will be a constant happy reminder of a good bit of HP lore.

He gave a star turn cameo in 'The Fruit Machine'. Always thought he'd be a great dinner party guest.

She's a hateful woman, sadly. Not very long since she was wishing Boris Johnson dead.

A racist, as well; she makes clear her view that she's cleverer than the rest of us because she's Jewish in comments reported in David Baddiel's book 'Jews Don't Count'.

I didn't know she said that about disgraced former PM, serial liar and breaker of COVID regulations Johnson, she should be elevated to national treasure status post haste.

For anyone who likes cars and engines. Some kind soul has uploaded all of the series to YouTube. I bought the accompanying book for the show, which was equally interesting.

Very sad loss, always liked him and not just for the obvious things he's famous for
    RIP Robbie

On a personal note thanks for providing some humour to some very bad bond movies! Would have been unbearable without you
