A brilliant actor and screen presence.
So clever my foot fell off.

Sorry to hear that. I watch him regularly in Neil Jordan's 'Mona Lisa'.
Oh blimey that's bad news :(
Very sad news indeed, RIP.

Ah, that's some sad news.

Sad news, RIP big man.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
That's sad, loved his appearances in various Comic Strip episodes.
RIP Robbie. That's a real genuine shock. I enjoyed Cracker and Hagrid as well as Samuel Johnson in Blackadder.
He made a great show called Coltranes, planes and automobiles in the mid 90s. Each episode was on a different type of engine. Very engaging presenter.

A larger than life character in every way.
I remember seeing him in Glasgow in the 80’s wearing a shocking pink Teddy Boy suit, just before he made his big break in Tutti Frutti.
RIP big man.
They'll need a replacement driver to Craiglang... RIP Rubeus Robbie.
RIP. Fantastic actor. The first time I saw him was in Nuns on the Run, which is a brilliant film.
Loved Cracker. Great actor. RIP
RIP-cracker was brilliant, don’t remember him ever making a bad program

Sad news, I loved nuns on the run as a child in the 80`s / early 90`s
Oh dear, that's a shock. RIP.
A fantastic presenter…I loved his planes trains and automobiles documentaries.. You could tell he loved doing that series.
RIP Robbie..
I don't usually comment on these threads but I think I'll miss him, he was great in everything and a proper bloke.
Cracker … now that was, ahem, a cracker of a series, and the kids loved him as Hagrid.
RIP big fella.
Ah, that's s***e. He was a great one. RIP big fella

Always watchable no matter what he starred in.
RIP.
Genuinely saddened to hear this today.
Loved him in Cracker and remember well his series about combustion engines and transport.
Convincing, likeable and easy to listen to.
He was in the video for Kate Bush’s “Deeper Understanding” and did backing vocals on “Waking the witch” from “Hounds of Love”
As our northern brethren have already said…
Rest in Peace big man

Very sad and a huge loss. He’ll also be Cracker for me.
My everlasting memory of him will be his walk along the Sea Wall in Supergrass.

That must have taken some balls.
Yes R.I.P. sad loss for the entertainment world.
Enjoyed watching him in Cracker. RIP.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Never watched Cracker, but remember him fondly from his Comic Strip appearances. And Tutti Frutti, remember that? Oh yes and the two Bond films he did, of course. Sad news.
Miriam Margolyes just on the Today programme talking about her friend Robbie.
She was following Jeremy Hunt who was in the ten past eight slot.
She said “I said to him, You’ve got a hell of a job, Best of luck. What I really wanted to say was Fuck you, you bastard”

That lady is a National Treasure!
Also very sad new on Mr Cotrane, but he was 72, had ill health for 2 years and wasnt exactly fit and healthy before that either.
Have a mate whos actually taller but thankfully not as stout, has a big bushy beard and is nicknamed Hagrid, will be a constant happy reminder of a good bit of HP lore.
Rgds
Extrenely saddened and shocked!
Rest in Peace Big Fella!
Always be Cracker for me too.
Very sad news.
RIP Robbie.

He gave a star turn cameo in 'The Fruit Machine'. Always thought he'd be a great dinner party guest.

For anyone who likes cars and engines. Some kind soul has uploaded all of the series to YouTube. I bought the accompanying book for the show, which was equally interesting.

Very sad loss, always liked him and not just for the obvious things he's famous for
RIP Robbie
On a personal note thanks for providing some humour to some very bad bond movies! Would have been unbearable without you
