Mate! I can empathise.
(Noticed that you didn't get the ambulift on and off the plane, though )
We used to spend a couple of months a year at my son's place in Florida (April/May and later thanksgiving) until of course Covid struck so my recent trip (Sept/Oct) is the first we've had since then.
First weekend we went out on the boat taking a jet ski and wake board with us for a lovely trip to an island where we could just muck around.
My wife and I went on the jet ski and my son was being towed on the wake board which dunked him in a couple of times and he came back feeling a bit bashed up but nobody thought much of it.
When we got back to my son's friend's dock I heard a gigantic splash and the Mrs had walked backwards off the dock and into the water! She floundered around for a couple of seconds until my son and I pulled her out but she had bashed her knee when she went in. She wasn't reassured when she was told an eight foot alligator had been seen there a few days earlier!
A couple of days later my sons arm swelled up so he went to the emergency clinic and they sent him straight to the hospital where he stayed for three days. Luckily an operation wasn't deemed necessary.
Just as he came out of hospital I came down with an attack of Vertigo which was completely debilitating. Went to to the local clinic who said they could prescribe something but my BP was so high I'd have to go straight to the ER in case I popped a blood vessel! Never had high BP in my life but off we went to hospital.
I must say the service we received was first class, I was seen after about ten minutes and put in a private room on a drip. I was given meds and fortunately after a few hours I was told I could go home as my BP had subsided.
What with me wobbling about and the wife supporting me whilst sporting a knee brace we looked a right pair. One good thing was that with me in a wheelchair we went straight to the front of the queue through security etc so that was a small compensation.
To be honest I was glad to get back to Blighty for a holiday!
Cheers,
Neil.
At least you'll remember it ;-)
Cripes Neil, Sounds like a real bad time mate, Hope you're all better now
John
Oh dear, sounds like you have been through the wars. I'm sure that Dot was pleased to see you.
In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
At least no individual hogged the limelight !!!
You need to create a Family Holiday Album with photo-captions………..
You have my sympathy. I’d never had vertigo until a business trip in Singapore. The cleaners called a dr for me when she found me on the floor.
