Media box with apps to replace Virgin/Sky

Can you recommend decent, reliable box, with good UI which provides Youtube, Netflix applications, - and the ability to watch pay-per-view events also? I rarely watch TV these days. Many thanks

I bought an Amazon fire stick to do this. It works quite well. I believe the 4k max and the cube are more powerful devices and are worth getting even if you do not need the 4k resolution. Might upgrade myself

Sounds good. How about PPV events, - is this possible with an Amazon Firestick?

The Apple TV runs Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ etc really well. It also has a Now TV app. I believe Now TV offers PPV events. You can also get 1 day subs for Sky Sports.

Apple TV is a very user friendly UI and 4K UHD and Dolby sound is seamless. Ideal if you are apple user.

Apple TV will still be performing brilliantly in a few years time. Feels expensive up-front, but performs better and more consistently for a lot longer than the cheaper alternatives.

I use Chromecast (the one with the remote) and also have two Apple TVs. I only use the Apple TV for Zwift cycling and use the Chromecasts for everything else.

If you have Virgin broadband this might be interesting
