Missing Watch - Anyone Seen it?

Following on from my downsizing post a couple of weeks ago I’d considered selling off the lower values watches and this Tag Heuer Carrera Jack Heuer 40th Anniversary was a likely target.

During Covid I’d generally not worn a proper watch and as a result they’d all been hidden away in sock drawers, under kitchen cabinets and other less obvious places for ‘safety’.

The Carrera need a service before it hits the market but can I find it anywhere…….No.

So if anyone has seen a lonely silver faced Carrera knocking around please let me know.

Where have you found your ‘missing’ watches?

I lost an MR-G once, thought I'd left it at work but couldn't find it anywhere.......until I went to use the kitchen scales. No idea why it was sitting in the scales pan as I'd never went to weigh it.

At one point I kept it in a hiking sock in spare golf bag but as I’m playing more golf these days don’t think it’s there anymore

That is annoying. I have lost straps before but they turn up in tin boxes. Also lost papers for an Oysterquartz but was discovered hiding in another watch box. Pretty sure someone here lost a Daytona and found it on top of a wardrobe.

In the late 80s I bought a Seiko chrono just before I went into the Army, a couple of years later it was pretty beat up and one weekend when I was on leave I chucked it into a drawer at my mums.
20 years later I visit my mum and I looked in the drawer and there it was, I left it where it was not thinking about it, then sadly my mum grew older and so did I so one day 10 years ago I looked in the drawer, it was gone, my mum didn't have a clue as my sister had been cleaning and cleared a lot of old rubbish into the bin a few years ago, I guess that's where it ended up.

Gen1 Seiko RAF the crystal was pretty much sh4gged but it worked and the watch still had its original strap............gutted, and it only cost me £45

I gave my teenage son my blue faced Vostok Amphibia to wear a few years ago, he misplaced it not long after, I was mildly annoyed but not too surprised but that’s why I lent him the Vostok, he just came through to tell and show me he found it in the back of his wardrobe! I’m really pleased, I have had it for a long time and glad it’s back.
    Cheers..

Check in between the wall and bedside cabinet or bed. Also take out drawers and check sides and bottom.

I’ve got a lot of socks so there’s a chance it’s still stuck in one set which I’ve not fondled aggressively yet.

I lost my deepsea bracelet for several years. Eventually found in a box of books I unpacked…. Long after watch was sold.

A watch of great sentimental importance to me once went missing for a couple of weeks. I found it toward the bottom of a waste paper basket by my desk, could have been lost forever and I no longer have any bin where something could be knocked off a desk or sill into it 🫢

Took my Omega Seamaster off at work while I was pulling some network cables through ducting. Busy busy day in and out of offices and the IT comms room, then went home and completely forgot where I had left it. Four worrying days passed and then back at work I returned to the office to number the sockets - only to find it sitting on a cupboard shelf where I'd left it. The relief was palpable. And then some.

Maybe it’s run off with my complete Tudor watch box for adventures in far away places.

Found it! After about 2 years of going missing.

Was doing some prepping for a bit of house storage upgrade and there it was hidden inside a gift box labelled, ‘Fifty things to do when you are 50’.

Then remembered the stopwatch hand fell off so needs a bit of TLC!
