Does it not cross your mind to give a bit more info about the watch?
There are plenty of options but it all depends on the age and model.
I can never understand why people give the minimum info when asking for advice!
Hi,
My Omega will need a service soon.
Been considering the following:
a) Watch Repair Centre (Newcastle)
b) Goldsmiths
c) Swiss Time Services
The Watch Repair Centre is an Omega service centre and close enough to take the watch there in person.
Goldsmiths is also convenient for taking the watch in person. Although I’m not sure where Goldsmiths in Newcastle actually send watches for servicing.
Swiss Time Services is less convenient, but a friend suggested them.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience of any of the above?
MDSWATCH.

STS would be my choice.
Alternatively, as you say something local, Duncan at Genesis Watchmaking. He’s in Brampton Cumbria just along the A69

I didn’t realise Genesis was so close.
Thanks.
I used STS to service my father’s Seamaster. They did a great job so another vote for them . I am due to shortly relocate to the NE so will be interested in which option you finally select .
Duncan @ Genesis is great but I don’t believe you can just rock up there and hand the watch over in person, Postal deliveries much preferred.
As the watch has a co-axial movement ideally it should go to either the Omega Service centre or an accredited repairer such as Genesis. I would send it to Duncan at Genesis, posting the watch is straightforward and safe using RMSD. Wrap it in a few layers of bubblewrap, tape it up, put it in a padded envelope, put that in a grey plastic RMSD outer envelope, job done.
Absolutely no in-person drop offs. I live close to him and for security he doesn't want visitors. Which is a good thing.
Feel free to post it and separately come and see Hadrian's Wall at The Sill and the Sycamore Gap. Even the grouse are flying well this time of year.
Of course, security. That makes sense.
I notice he quotes separately for servicing and polishing. That’s good because I only want the service. Case is still in good condition.
I also notice he does Tudor. That’s worth knowing. I’ve heard Tudor just replace the movement. Would prefer to get the original movement serviced.
Thanks everyone. I think I’m going to try Genesis.
Another one here for Duncan.
Had my PO serviced by him, with a light case refurbishment, and it came back as good as new.
Great communication throughout.
I decided to with Genesis and I’m really pleased I did.
Duncan is a very nice person to deal with.
This is the first time I’ve had a relatively expensive watch serviced.
So I had all sorts of questions to ask. They were all patiently answered.
Got the watch back now. It was well packed and everything seems fine.
I’ve got some other watches due a service over the next couple of years. I will be sending them to Genesis.
I’ve also got a couple of watches from Swatch Group which are overdue a service. Unfortunately Genesis can’t service them, because they can’t source the parts.
So I might send them to STS.
Thanks everyone for the recommendations.
Duncan at Genesis All day every day.
Top man to deal with.
Had several serviced by him, he gives you detailed info when it arrives, what he finds and an accurate cost estimate
Cheers and best of luck
Barry

And a further recommendation for Duncan. He currently has my wife’s Omega for service and overhaul.
