Biggest concern might be the build up of bacteria.
The insoles could be 3D scanned for a very good fit, many print materials available these days.
Hey folks,
Does anyone on the forum use custom orthotics in their shoes?
I have just got a pair from my chiropractor and immediately felt the benefits. Just a lovely balance across my whole body. This issue is that they are CRAZZEEEEE expensive.
My question is: if you have used custom orthotics, has anyone considered using 3D printing to replicate further copies? The original pair was circa £450 and additional pairs are £300! The raw material is basically plastic as far as I can see and whilst I know a lot of research and time goes into the first pair, additional pairs less so.
Thoughts?
Thank you
Greg

Going to have to have the foot scan that the printer can follow. Can you get that and is the orthotic material easy to get?

Where did you get your customs done? I’ve had a pair for like 20 years and prob thought I should see if they’re still the right shape…
These guys were good.

I got my original pair from https://www.reflexspinalhealth.com/. Really made a huge difference. But n+ 1 very pricey.
I have custom orthotics, made of carbon fibre. Not as simple as just a plastic insole though as there's also foam built up to support the arch so wouldn't have thought 3d printing would work?

We are looking at it for a project at work to save on the cost of producing tooling for one off parts.
