Also curious to see, especially if the lug to lug is shorter. The previous gen's lug was a bit too long for my liking, especially when compared to XV / XII
Recently came across IWC's new mark 20.
Really like the blue dial, with the shorter lug to lug and slight reduction in the height and a 120 hour PR

It looks pretty much like the XVI onwards; little to differentiate really. Shame the date wheel isn't inverse as that would make it look very nice.
Just too expensive for what it is, bearing in mind that 50% of the quality can be had for 2% of the price, if the writing on the dial doesn't matter to the wearer.
I still love the XV, but I never did buy one as the SB3 did everything as well for a tenth of the price.
Excellent quality watches just don't have to cost more than a used car these days.
IWC watches are good quality and I think in the hand you notice the difference with other similarly styled watches. Shorter lugs are good but it feels like a sparse dial to me. There was a Rake edition a few years back, 36mm and baton hands. It was bronze but if there was a non limited edition in steel I would buy in a heartbeat.
They're going to release a steel bracelet option at some point. I'm looking forward to that. I was thinking about getting a Mark XVIII, so with the upgraded movement and tweeked cosmetics of the XX, I'm very tempted.
Thanks for your replies so far.
Is SB3 mean Speed Bird 3?

Complete opposite. The bracelet is perfection. Smooth and rattle-free; fits the wrist like a second skin. I wish I hadn't sold mine but needs were a must at the time. They barely appear on SC these days.
As plain as you can get.
There’s probably a Seconda that’s looks pretty much the same.

Love IWC and the pilot range however, those hands have never worked or suited the model and they should revert to the originals.
Arrived this morning from the IWC Boutique in London.

Looks really awesome Tony
What’s the silicone straps fit and finish like?, it looks like a really good colour combo. And did it come with all 3 ?

The green one looks lovely, not sure it’s £5700 lovely but very good looking IMHO
I agree! Loving it so far - my 41mm chrono has a black dial with grey numerals so it's nice to have some variety. IWC's blue and green dials are some of the best at this price point, IMO.

Not often a green dial fan, but that certainly looks the business.
It is beautiful, the price is quite expensive, but the look is great

Thanks guys!
@Topcat30093. How are you finding the blue version? I love being able to quickly swap between the bracelet and strap with the quick release system.

I went with the matt black dial.
To be fair its early days, and I have yet to wear it longer than a few hours.
Though the lume, especially the hands will last through the night.
Why is there a Junkers-Ju52 on the back of the IWC MkXX?

I have a 40mm Flieger from Addiesdive with a Seiko NH35 inside. If a Chinese company using a third-party movement can make the date window line up perfectly on the arc of the hour numerals for 80 quid, why can't IWC do it for six grand?
Thank you. I didn't know.
One of Georges Kern's less clever ideas.
I love pilots watches and IMO the IWC Mark line is the ultimate execution.
HOWEVER, the last two generations have been too big for the movement and the floating date wheel annoys me on the XX and the XVIII before it. The watches are also just too big anyway; and before anyone says they’re meant to be big, that’s what the big pilot is for, the Mark line is meant to be easy to wear.
The spitfire three-hander looks better proportioned and had an in-house movement last generation, I just don’t like the cream lume.
I probably keep banging on about it but if you like the sword hands, the MkXVI is the best looking of the bunch, and a relative bargain, despite the off-the-shelf ebauche.
Regardless, I still like this gen. Could be better though.
