Is there a full reset sequence for this model?
Very strange it does nothing- presume you didn’t remove the stem/ crown
Edit
I see for a full reset it needs to be in the CHR mode
Is there a possibility of a dead cell? Stick it outside
I brought this citizen eco drive perpetual calendar E812 many moons ago and used it as my work watch. It ended up sitting in the draw for about 6-7 yrs. Moving house and it popped up so I wanted to bring it back into service. I left it out for a couple of days to charge but no joy. I purchased a new capacitor and tried again but again no joy.
When I turn the crown the selector on the bottom sub dial does turn. Pulling the crown out one or two stops and turning does nothing. The pushers also do nothing.
Is it completely dead or is there anything I can do?
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't aware of a full reset, I'll look into that thanks

I bought one of these (same movement, different dial) from ebay as spares or repairs. When it arrived it was too nice to pull apart so I went through the same process asd you - charged it, no joy. Capacitor, no joy. Just as I was about to give up, it sprang to life.
Pull the crown out, leave it for a good few days on a windowsill. By weekend, I bet its going.
Capacitors usually come charged, but it does usually say expect them to need charging.
Thanks. I tried the reset thing and it seemed to partially work which I hope indicates a low charge on the capacitor. I'll give it a few more (overcast) days on the window sill

Realistically it will need quite a few days persevere -
Just wondering if it recharges with artificial lights

OK, so just back from work, pulled the crown out two stops and I'll leave it on the window ledge till the weekend. Fingers crossed this works as I'd really like to bring it back into regular rotation

For illustrative purposes on the efficacy of recharging a solar powered watch, here's the blurb from a G-Shock. Much the same will apply to the Citizen.
Thanks for chart, pretty useful that

Right then. Had the watch on the window ledge and outside with the crown out and its doing some pretty strange stuff. I've tried the reset etc but its not working properly. Basically I can't seem to adjust the reference position of the hoands apart from the seconds hand. I also can't seem to alter the time apart from an approx 2 hr period. I really don't want to bin it so does any one have any recommendations for someone who could take a look at it please? I'm hoping a service may resolve the issues.
Can't offer any specific advice, but would just suggest that Citizen/Miyota tend to keep the same movements in production over long periods of time, so if this movement isn't serviceable, you may simply be able to replace it; indeed, that option may even be cheapest.
Silly question but are you sure you have the correct cell?
I only ask as I inadvertently fitted an incorrect one to a U600 once -and it sort of worked but sort of didn’t - that’s when I double checked
Hi
This is the one I fitted. I believe it to be correct........

Did you complete the all reset followed by zeroing the hands?

I left running over the weekend and it looks like the only part moving is the second hand. I suppose a new movement is the next step?
