    Classic Car Convoy (pic heavy)

I was cycling back from Kingston today through Home Park, and as I was passing by this massive classic car convoy, so I decided to take a seat on the grass and take some pics.

There was a rare concours meet this weekend at Hampton Court Palace, which I found out after I'd take a photo of the poster.

The cars where all exiting via Home Park golf course if anyone knows the area. The cars are probably off just a few miles down to Esher, Oxshott and Cobham!!

Event was sponsored by a watch brand if you read the poster. Anyway, enjoy my crap photos if you are into this kind of thing.

    Blimey!!!

Some serious bits of kit there.

The petrol stations for a 10mile radius must have thought it was Christmas :)

That's a serious convoy! Worth several millions of quid as well.

Fantastic. What a sight that must have been. A good four years worth of calendar material by my reckoning.

The photos are just over half the cars on show. Plenty more went past!

Apparently it was a £50 adult admission fee. Not that I’d have paid, as I’m not that interested, but I got a full show for free.

Wow, those cars look great and nice to see such a wide ranging mixture of cars.
I can only name a few I’m afraid!

    Is it a Bristol? Maybe a 403?

Actually, ignore that. As lovely as the 493 is, I’m suspecting something more Italian. An Alfa, I’m pretty sure, although I’m not certain of the model. I’ll employ some google-fu to resolve it, but I’m certain it’s an Alfa

I'd guess at Lancia Aurelia B20. Beautiful machine.

Right, mystery solved - I knew I recognised it and as close to the 403 as it was, it is actually an Alfa - a 1949 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 ‘Villa d’Este’ to be precise.

Take a look at https://www.supercars.net/blog/1949-...0-villa-deste/ for more info.

    Smashing set of wheels.

Thanks for that, seems its just a couple of k out of my price range! Looks a bit like if you married a Jaguar xk120 with a Jensen cv8. The Alfa looks better though.
