What’s the best watch you’ve bought through the forum and still have?

Wearing my Reverso today and still think myself lucky I had the chance to get it from a member here years ago. I’ve bought and sold a few but this ones staying.
Plenty of buying and selling regrets but not this one.
    What’s your best forum ‘keeper’?

Has to be this, although there are several contenders, this is the last watch obtained through the forum that I would sell I think:

That really is a spectacularly good looking watch.

Damasko DC57 - picked-up three years ago at a fair price from a good seller, and it has since had more wear than most of the rest of my watches put together. It's my only watch without a sentimental attachment that I will never sell.

these three (rolex, gold omega and the girrard perregaux above) all came from here and are probably the stone cold classics of my collection. owned the explorer and the gold seamaster for a few years now.

It would be a tight call between my 213 and my 243.

It would have to be this one, from the OP actually.
Thought many times about selling it but never could as I always end up thinking it is too good of a watch for the money!

This is my oldest forum purchase (2016) by far and is listed in my will (going to my son) so I guess it's a keeper.

Something far more humble which I think came from reggie747, a bi-metal Squale 38mm, currently on a nato as I'm searching for an extra bi-metal link for the bracelet.

I got this from SC in 2013, will never sell it.

I’ve had this 18 months, probably the SC purchase I’m fondest of.

Damasko DS30, wore it when I proposed. Safe to say it’s not going anywhere.

Not really anything grand or interesting, but picked up this solar Seiko a while back for an absolute steal (I've been offered more than double what I paid for it)
Won't ever sell this it's just such an easy hassle free watch to wear day to day

A nice 16750. It was a bit beat up but restored itself well.

So far for me it has been a Dan Henry 1962, which scratches my chronograph itch.

I’ve missed out on some others by minutes but I always think that if something is or isn’t meant to be, then it will or will not happen if that makes sense?

My Explorer 2 black I bought from Padders a few years ago(thanks mate). Great watch in that it isn't too garish or noticeable in these crime ridden times and is still a top watch. I wear it on a Rubber B with 93250 clasp and love the look. Even though it's not a 'full set' I will likely keep it and probably sell the GMT2 as mentioned elsewhere.

Only bought this is January from Gavbaz and it will never go anywhere...worn it all summer and even stopped me wearing my white Explorer II which is normally my summer watch.

Only time i have ever been asked about my watch is when i am wearing this.

The Performax Intense dots on the grip are nicely matchy-matchy with the goosebumps on your arm

Not quite directly through the seller, but this watch is from here and I can’t see myself letting it go.

This is the one I bought here, that I've had the longest - April 2010

    Then this in January 2013

Got this in May 2013 from Tony

The 16600 is probably "The Best" but I love all 3 of these.

Thanks for replies and what a great variety. There are always low points but I really enjoy the opportunity to see, learn and buy watches from enthusiasts so thought a positive thread about SC and keeping watches was due.
    Thanks Ed

Think it might just be this one.....not much separating it from the U1 that also came via SC.

Terrible to make an outing with that "rare" ... IF its got anything to do with its "value".

But times are crazy, and we all know it takes a degree of bravery to just wear and enjoy a SS rolex nowadays. Luckily Im brave! Ha!

    But that’s entirely true.

I work near London, so dare not wear it there, but I figured a pub lunch in the Cotswolds was lower risk.

…Although the “Rolex Rippers” have struck in the Cotswolds…

I'm expecting this thread to fill up with owners of LTF's previous forum sales :)

  48. #48
I still wonder how I got this for such a bargain price.

Absolutely fabulous watch that I would only part with for something really special

    This too...

Oddly the BP & Breitling probably don't get the most wear of those I bought from TZ-UK.

    That would go to this...

    or this...

The only watch I've bought from SC that I no longer own is a Sinn U1. Always wanted one, hated it when I got it.

  49. #49
This old thing, my beater and my “lucky watch” (it’s the one mostly I wear to Chelsea games)
It wasn’t pristine when I picked it up from the SC for about £800, the bracelet looked like it had been fitted by Edward Scissorhands, but back then it was my first big spend on a watch and being quartz is my perfect pick up and go.
