    Foghorn Weghorst missed another sitter.
    He can’t buy a goal.

Pleased for him. Team mates love him by the look of it.

Harry Kane should go and play at Man U. He'd fit in there I think

Likewise. He always puts a shift in - but until tonight, he's just not quite got the right finish.
... and his goal tonight wasn't a clean strike.

Grealish with another embarrassing dive. Awful. Keeper got away with one also, that was a clear foul.

Utter dominance from City and some great play. You concentrate on your edited highlights

    Blatant dive from Grealish.
But City looking hungry for goals tonight. KDB & Haaland on fire.

They were my edited lowlights. The highlights are that City have been sensational; utterly dominant and Haaland has been unreal.

Never a pen. What’s the defender meant to do? Jump with arms by sides? Hardly. But it’s the rules that have to change.

Absolutely agree. Very harsh decision. Apart from a sloppy 5-10 minutes in first half City have been outstanding tonight so far

I think Messi also got 5 goals in a Champions League game as well - shame Pep didn't leave Haaland on to get a 6th and break that record

    UEFA Champions League 2022/23

Oof. coup de grâce from KDB.

  21. #221
KDB certainly got back to basics (and he has had a bad run of losing possession). Bernardo is a sensational player. Foden looking sharp again ….. Arsenal are not going to have as easy a time as I thought they would. City clicking into gear

Depends if City keep playing like that. If they put out a similar performance as tonight against Arsenal at the Etihad they could beat them, or get a point at the very least. But City haven't been consistent.

Scary to think though, if City stuck 7 past Leipzig how many would Arsenal have gotten against them? Could have been double figures.

Quote from Pep this morning saying at Haalands young age a double hat trick might have taken away future ambition so by taking him of its spurs him on in the future.

I've just read that's 39 goals for the big man so far this season, with 19 possible games still to go. Crazy.

His numbers are staggering. More ECL goals than Rooney in 60 fewer games! Last night was the best I’ve seen him. Totally unstoppable. Beast mode activated.

Agreed. They’ve been shite tonight. As good as Madrid have been, Liverpool have been awful in possession. Wasteful.

Milner, Henderson, Elliott, Fabinho, TAA and Ox are nowhere near this level. The difference in quality tonight man for man and as a team has been massive. Some good teams left in Madrid, Napoli, City and Bayern looking ominous.

Madrid have been scintillating at times tonight, albeit Liverpool’s poor end balls didn’t help.
    Vinicius Jr is some talent

You have only just realised???? We have had no engine room all season really. Bajcetic is some prospect, Fab has lost his mojo, Henderson is getting on. Thiago injured.

Meh, can’t win them all, let’s hope Jurgen gets backed in the summer

While reactionary in the extreme at least that makes some sense, including Fabinho, elliot and trent in the list could make you look silly.

Except it doesn’t make me look silly. Suggesting Harvey Elliott is quarter final ECL level is very silly. Trent and Elliott wouldn’t get into any of the remaining teams in the quarters, particularly Elliott who is an average EPL player at best.

Exactly. I definitely know average EPL players when I see them and therefore do know what I’m talking about. Why you being so defensive? The players I’ve mentioned would all be upgraded by Klopp in a second if funds and players were available. Would you disagree?

I really haven’t Tony. I’ve been critical of Spurs for good reason just like the majority of the media and you don’t like it. Really.

You’ve never proven me wrong on anything I’ve said either.

The thing is looking at that Liverpool attack there is real quality there. Hard to comment on the defence as they get no protection from the midfielders so I guess the question is what has happened since last season as most of the same players are there? Diaz coming back won't solve it. I thought Fabinho was poor tonight but also there wasn't much incision or cute passes coming through. There were plenty last year with almost the same team. It is very odd.

FWIW I thought Madrid clearly have quality but I think are a level below City, probably Bayern and maybe also Napoli as well. On that last note Italy have 3 sides in the quarter finals for the first time in a very long time.

Worth noting that TAA has gone backwards this season and the loss of Mane has hit hard. Two key players over recent seasons.
