    UEFA Champions League 2022/23

How on earth have UEFA put Ajax, Frankfurt, Milan and Porto into Pot One? Some strange choices there.

    Group A:
    Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli, Rangers

    Group B:
Porto, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkuson, Brugge

    Group C:
Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter, Viktoria Plzen

    Group D:
    Frankfurt, Spurs, Sporting CP, Marseille

    Group E:
AC Milan, Chelsea, RB Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb

    Group F:
Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, Donetsk, Celtic

    Group G:
    Man City, Sevilla, Dortmond, Copenhagen

    Group H:
    PSG, Juventus, Benfica, Maccabi Haifa

Couple of big clubs could end up in Thursday / Sunday purgatory.

Rangers and Liverpool in the same group, I'm torn between gutted and ecstatic. Group C looks nuts, Viktoria Plzen are going to have a hell of a wild ride.

Pot one was made up of the current CL holder, Europa league holders then the champions of the top leagues. Pot2, 3 and 4 was co-efficient points.

I always thought the teams were also ranked on the recent CL performances, obviously not has Liverpool should surely of been in pot 1.
Not that it matters what pot they were in on recent performances.

Chelsea like Liverpool this season just can't seem to find the same form of last season.

Ain’t that the truth. Didn’t see Napoli getting one over Liverpool by that margin

Absolutely no answer for them tonight, continued with the poor form seen thus far this season.

Liverpool well and truly ripped apart in the first half

    I don't think anyone did.

I was hoping that they would continue to build momentum after that huge Bournemouth win, I actually enjoyed the Everton game on the weekend despite the final result.

Defensively Joe Gomez will take some flack from Liverpool fans but Trent was shocking. Two of those goals he got beat and basically just stood there. He’s a good player but maybe starting to believe some of the hype around himself…..

To be fair Spurs have been off it for a while. Conte to fail to get out of the group again?

To put it into context this is a Sporting team that lost 5-0 at home to Man City last year, sold their best players and are 7th in the Portuguese league having played 3 days ago whilst Spurs had the weekend off. Shocker for Spurs and embarrassing tactically for Conte who seems to rely on Wing Backs to create attacks but when your wing backs aren't up to scratch and your front 3 are not on it then you get what happened tonight.

Bad result, but it was a decent game in a pretty hostile atmosphere. We certainly didn’t deserve to lose IMO.

Sounds like the same person shouting out again who is again told to shush and one or two others booing who are again drowned out by people telling them to shush.

Not too sure what the point is your trying to make here other than look for a bit of controversy.

Shame that the referee couldn’t actually time the minutes silence at Anfield. It was barely 30 seconds.

Not to excuse the small minority that couldn’t keep quiet, but the club announced before the game that there would be a “moment” of silence. It wasn’t supposed to be a minute.

Rio Ferdinand is getting on my tits, every time he is asked a question he starts his answer with Listen…

Like those annoying types who start every sentence with So…

Getting back to the footie, Dortmund keeping City quiet.

Haaland has scored 13 goals in his first month at Man City. He was supposed to struggle to settle in remember? And there was even debate as go who would be a better signing - Haaland or Nunez

Next time Celtic play in England the fear is that their fans will get annihilated by the locals. One of the benefits of social media is that now the whole world knows what that horrific club and fans are all about. Don't forget the pro IRA songs as well that their 'fans' regularly sing.

Quite frankly i do not see my club CFC getting out of the group stage or making any real progress in the domestic cups and as to the EPL if we get a top four on the present form it will be a miracle.I can see MC getting a league and three cup finish this season.

I guess we will have a better idea come October 11. We need a minimum of four points from the games with Milan to stand any chance of staying in the Champions League. League Cup away at City will be a good test.

With all the games coming thick and fast this season will be a really tough one for everyone, especially those with a lack of quality in depth. A few injuries to key players could change the picture significantly.

Replace Celtic with any other team and they all have fans/songs/behaviour which is distasteful.

    Sure

And let's see how that behaviour pans out for Celtic fans next time they have to go and play at Chelsea or West Ham for example.

Think you have been watching a bit too much football factory unless of course you’re in a firm and kept it quiet.
You would need to change firm every year of course as you change your team.

Bizarre behaviour. The same guy who went steaming in, incorrectly as it turned out, blaming Liverpool fans over Paris, and then refused to acknowledge that some of his own fan base have been caught singing anti-semetic chants towards Spurs fans.

    A very short memory.

Never failed to acknowledge Arsenal fans allegedly using anti semitic chants against Spurs. Cannot recall being in a thread where that was even raised.

Would be ironic anyway given my Jewish ancestry on my mother's side.....

Napoli looking good again. Some comical defensive faux pas from Ajax suitably punished. 1-5 before Tadic got his red card.

Was flitting between that and Inter vs Barca. Another good game.

As a strict non-Ajax fan: a wonderful evening yesterday.

The arrogance, the ‘we’re the best and all others are peasants’ attitude is now in pieces.

My oldest son, who’s an Ajax fan won’t talk to me anymore ;-) I sent him a barrage of anti-Ajax memes.
