Thread: A wet track day at Goodwood in the Exige

A wet track day at Goodwood in the Exige

It was wet / damp nearly the whole day yesterday, which was disappointing given the weather so far this summer.

At least the big 375mm bolt on cans kept me out of trouble with the noise meters vs the 300mm cans I used previously which necessitated short shifting out of Madgewick corner.

    Circa 10 mins of highlights.

My neighbour enjoyed his passenger laps.

    That's a stunning car!

I imagine Lotus suspension still makes a huge difference in the wet, though.

Suspension is good. I could have softened the dampers off, but it's a wheels off job to do it properly.

It was a good few hours of being pretty gentle on the throttle until the car was straight.

Had a couple of slightly sideways moments. One at fairly high speed, but the GoPro battery had just died so no footage

    Thanks.

I was on Pilot Sport Cup 2's (far from new).

I do have a separate set of wheels with Avon ZZR's but they are even worse in the wet.

Good work! I always find the Cup 2s a bit sketchy in the wet (or even in the dry, if they're cold!). My friend had a 350 sport, such a raw car. Makes my GT4 seem rather banal in comparison!
