    PRS-29AM with Acrylic Crystal

I’ve been tinkering again. This time with the Air Ministry and I think the acrylic crystal modification takes it to another level:

Great tinkering! Looks like it changes the colouring and clarity. Looks amazing.

    Thank you!

Makes it look more “vintage” to my eyes.

Thank you. Yes I think so too, makes a great watch even better. I totally agree with Eddie’s rationale for not using Acrylic crystals but they do make a watch for me.

That is spectacular! It’s amazing how much it looks like a NOS original now.

Ahh, thank you very much. I've been toying with the idea of making the same mod to mine as my only beef with the watch is the way the crystal distorts the dial. That does look much better.

Was it a tricky job like the last glass to acrylic crystal swap or was it fairly simple?

Agreed. It really gives it a true vintage feel.

    No problem.
Yes it does make such a difference to the dial.
No - much simpler this time, no crazy fettling of tension rings, although I did change it from a polished to brushed finish to match the rest of the case. The only issue was the trial and error of getting the right diameter. Message me if you want more details!

That does look properly nice with acrylic. I totally get why Eddie is not going with acrylic any more, but I do like an acrylic both for look and feel. (Wearing my acrylic Commando at the moment).

Looks totally vintage with that mod, I do love an acrylic crystal especially on these types of watches, take my Commando so much better IMO with this and wouldn't have it any other way now.

Great job, most certainly makes the watch...

    Thank you.

Me too, from a business perspective Eddie is right.

But nothing compares to the look and feel of acrylic.

Hi Gent, it would be great if you could write a short guide for the novices like me or to detail the ring and crystal that you used. I would like to mod mine as I wore this for my wedding but would love an acrylic on it to feel even more like mid-century aviator watches.
