iPhone tracking app for 11 year old

Any recommendations for an app to put on an 11 year olds iPhone to keep an eye on his movements as he gains a bit more freedom?

I don’t want him to be able to turn it off or know when we take a look.

I want to be able to see him on my phone and also on my wife’s so I guess all of us will need the app.

I don’t want to use Find My as that will allow him to see our location.

Use Screen Time and Find My Phone. It's already part of the apple ios and you control the password. I use it on my 11-year-old's.

With Find My doesn’t that mean he can also see your location?

    No

Also don't let your kid have the password to their own apple ID.

You can also lock it down further by restricting certain things like location services and airplane mode so if the phone is on you're seeing the location.

Yes, but you can turn off sharing your location.

I use it for my kids, well the wife does and it works fine for us.

Locking down their access is a good point. Mine are not overly aware they are being tracked but I’m sure if they were, they would look at turning it off, or hiding under airplane mode.

We use Life360 and this works a treat. You can turn it off but mine knows that if they do there will be consequences.

They can't unless they know the password, which is set by the parent.

Thanks guys. I’ll have a tinker. He’s off to secondary school soon so the phones all new.

I used Life360 and it worked pretty well. This was on a very locked down iPhone. It was a ongoing battle of wits as my son has the restrictions as a puzzle to be solved. :)

I just use Find My. By default anyone in a family group can track each other. You can switch off your own visibility. You can use Screen Time to prevent him from disabling tracking.
