    Breitlight - durability?

Breitlight has been on the market for a few years now - I curiously if anyone here has one and if so how is it holding up ?

I looked at a used one, no scratches but plenty of little dinks on the case edges. Put me off as clearly it can’t be refinished.

I've had one for about 3 years, no issues, looks almost perfect still

My Avenger Seawolf was excellent, no issues whatsoever. My mates 9 month old Superocean had to go back to Breitling as it was gaining time massively. Now repaired and okay.

That’s interesting. One of my fears with this material, that it can, perhaps be chipped

I’ll keep an eye on this thread as I’ve been close to buying a Hurricane in the past

Mine is approx 18 months old, gets worn a lot and I don't baby it at all. The case remains perfect and looking like new. In my experience I would say it is a very tough material.

Some pictures of my almost 5 year old hurricane

The only mark on it is a slight line on the clasp

Do love a bit of forged carbon.

Saw a Cobra dial Hurricane in Bicester Village at a cracking price a while ago, but backed out due to the uncertainty of durability.

Are they forged carbon? I've seen conflicting reports on what the underlying process is.

Do Breitling still sell them - or did they disappear in brand remodel ?

Still on the website with a 'call us'... These seem to be the main poster-child for Breitlight currently:

I really like them, but £2,650 for what is fundamentally a (reinforced)plastic-cased quartz watch is a bit too touch-your-toes for me...

Tricky one to call from memory. I started trying to find the answer on the net years ago, but couldn’t find the definitive on the material. After handling one, it certainly had a forged carbon feel and look to it. I really couldn’t say for sure though.
