Ruf x Bamford x Highsnobiety – Tag Heuer

Yep it’s a handful to pronounce!

Sold out within a minute, at 6.5k it’s not cheap!!!

Got to be extremely nerdy & have money to waste to be buying that. Or possibly picked up by flippers so coming at a StockX near you very soon.

I would bet my life savings on the vast majority being sold to flippers – especially with that many "hype" brands involved.

Too cheap if it sold out that quickly. Thankfully I’ll never see one on anyone’s wrist.

Might suit someone with Ruf stickers on their Porsche.

I'm not in the market for a Tag Heuer ... but if I were, and given that I'm a Porsche aficionado, I could be persuaded with a Ruf-only collaboration. However, as I have no idea who Highsociety is and would rather stick pins in my eyes than buy anything with Bamford on it, it's a firm no from me.

Anything with Highsnobiety written on it needs throwing into a fire, load of crap.

£40 for a water bottle, give it a rest.

    High-whatnow?

Blimey, I'm so far away from what's cool these days.

Reminds me of a Grandpa Simpson quote:

I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!

    The watch is a mess.

If you can afford a RUF, I doubt you'd buy a TAG Heuer.

I like the car aesthetics (Porsche take note - this is how a 911 is supposed to look), and I like the watch aesthetics.

It's a 1960s car design reinterpreted for C21st, and it's a 1960s watch design reinterpreted for C21st. It makes sense.

The colours match the prototype SCR - which is gorgeous. So that makes sense, too.

Obviously we have to hate Bamford. Successful British company: BOO! And one that dares to tinker with 'Muh Rolex!'

I guess 'Highsnobiety' was bleeding-edge cool a few years ago and now middle-aged people have caught-up? Presumably they did the packaging.

I can't afford the watch, never mind the car, so my opinions are invalid. Unfortunately, Irrelevance Can Never Stop Me™!

    1. The car is fantastic.

    2. The watch is horrendous.

But seriously, a Beanie hat for £182.00

That's just the watch you need to time how long it takes to run through the gears in your DID YOU KNOW I HAVE A RUF? down the drive and back.

Bearing in mind RUF change so much on a 911 that it isn't even registered as a 911, you'd expect them to have taken apart a standard Carrera and completely rebuilt it with a case made from carbonfibre etc. If not, then it's just as bad as sticking a set of RUF wheels and a badge or two on a standard 964.

I am a fan of RUF, but this watch is a mess. Besides, the name Highsnobiety is awful. Ruf themselves have recently been making efforts to move away from their engineering first image, and towards the kind of audience which follows Singer. I can't blame them, but this seems like a poor attempt.

The colours in the watch are fantastic.
Would love a standard Carrera without the RUF branding but the Carrera in the same orange scheme.

    It’s a good job it’s limited to 100. I’m thankful for that.

I'd sooner have a Singer than a RUF. TAG's on the right track with their glassbox Heuer branded Carreras but that mashup is tasteless.
