Just watched Ozzy he deserves a mention just thought he was brilliant as were the rest of the band. Anyone think the same
I thought they were good too, Ozzy can still perform despite advancing years and a somewhat 'hectic' lifestyle over the years! Hearing him perform takes me back to my youth in the 70s.
Commonwealth Games has been excellent, even the weather co-operated.
Bit spinal tap with him being propped up but fantastic performance to close the games, even my wife thought they were good which is saying something. Proper Brummie legend who used to walk barefoot around Aston, mad as a hatter.
My uncle married his sister Iris, sadly passed away now.
Memories of John (Ozzy) and the band all staying in my uncles flat in Bristol around 1968, just before Paranoid was released and they made it big, playing cards, rooms full of smoke, on a whim they all went out and purchased high powered motorbikes leaving them dumped in the flats car park when they left.
One of my favourite tracks in my teenage years and great to see it being performed again. Super ending to the Games :)
I just caught up with the closing ceremony. Vocals appear to be all live but I'm pretty sure all the bands were actually miming to backing tracks. Understandable given the circumstances (choreographed for dancers / pyrotechnics etc).
Sounds like I missed the best act - turned off before Ozzy but the singing I saw was pretty dire. The Selector, Dexy’s, Musical Youth all grim.
Ozzy was amazing, still got the voice.
