On 11th August the top deck of a Boeing 747 is scheduled to make its way from Kemble, Gloucs, to Manchester City (Barton) Airport, where it is to become a static exhibit and resource centre known as "The Deck" (or for you NZers out there, The Dick).
M5 & M6, then M62 probably. Kemble - M5 should be interesting!
Call me a doom-monger, but I suspect that it may cause some traffic disruption.
Should make quite a sight though.
Kemble is not that far from me & I've had several trips by there to visit suppliers over the past few years.
I always enjoyed peering through the fence to see what's come in.
Last time I was there - it was a a long line of 747s.

Yes, Kemble is a good venue for a couple of hours' chilling. That café is a little-known gem.
Also not far from Kemble. Used to enjoy taking the boys over when they were younger to watch people taking their flying lessons whilst we sat in the cafe. Have also been to a couple of Pistonheads meets there. All before Covid...

Yes I read about in the local rag, it’s going to cause a few jams when it comes through the M5/ M6 junctions might pop over to Jun12 M6 see how much is behind it. Are they doing it Friday lunchtime
