Boot sale finds... Five pound bag

    Of watches....
Pretty chuffed to have found these, obviously only the Seikos are the decent ones, the gold coloured SQ is a gem, January 1976 0843 5040 with a amazing textured bark dial, really great condition and fired straight up with a battery as I knew it would, a Seiko 5 Sportsmatic February 1967 6119 7001 flavour, balance swings but not running, weird springbar covers that I imagine are for a bracelet. A Sports 100 7546 602A which I think is probably Feb 1979, the coil is absent from the movement so Ill need to transplant a donor movement, which I have. The rest of it is old crappy bits and bobs, the really old wire lugs one is interesting , presented by The Yorkshire Evening News, very old I think, pin set and large half onion crown, no glass and not running but all complete. loose bracelet is for the Sports 100 I think but the end pieces are shot.
Not a bad haul for a fiver.
The only other thing I got recently was a RS components illuminated bench magnifying glass on a articulated arm, weighs a ton and probably industrial. Also a fiver.

All cleaned up after this photo was taken

    Cheers..

You could sell them off on the SC bit by bit and run the risk of being branded a profiteer.

Could do Mick, but a wise man once said never sell your watches, so I won’t 👍😁

That's a nice little bunch for a fiver.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Loving the textured dial on the SQ there. Great little haul.

Great haul and that bark texture dial is definitely the standout watch.

Nice haul Jason well done , I have been most weekends to the Essex booties Colchester and Boreham, it's not been great and most weeks come back home with nothing !

Today was quite, I picked up a hardly used chinese made case back press ( no dies unfortunately) and a 60s Tissot leather strap never been used with a stainless buckle. All for 20 quid.

    A lady I know picked up a 40 s Rolex 2 weeks ago at Colchester for £ 2.00😊

She showed me the pictures today ,after taking it to her local jewelers it's been confirmed as original. It certainly looks correct from what I could see .

    Never happens to me 🥺

    Very nice.
Those RS illuminated magnifiers cost a fortune too, so even that was a good pick up.
Kanji day on the gold one is interesting, I thought even then they would have usually combined two european days, unless it was a JDM model

Great pickup Jason. It's been a long long time since I visited a boot sale. Most sellers have worked out they'll get more listing on eBay so it's now mostly tat around here!
    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

Thanks all, I need to get some better photos of the Seiko with the bark dial, it really is in amazing condition, Mrs M has taken a shine to it so I’m battling with shortening the bracelet at the moment.
    Cheers..
