they removed the price tags and it is either your camera or they changed the lighting from cold to warm color temp
A mistake by a member of staff, they forgot that Rolex watches are not for sale, exhibition only. Probably a newbie who'll get a stiff talking to by the manager.
I was at Cribbs Causeway near Bristol.
Did my usual window scan of the various jewellers.
And noticed that Goldsmiths centre Rolex display was showing the watches in the window with their respective price tags.
The display to the left again showed Rolex timepieces, but only for exhibition use.
I spoke with one of the SA and asked if the Rolex watches with the price tags were for sale.
She replied that she didn’t know, but would ask someone and so disappeared.
When she came back she said that it was an oversight by the staff and that normally they were not for sale.
However, as they had prices on them, they were for sale only today.
So, I was going to put the photo on the forum, in case anyone was interested.
We walked out of the store, so the SA could check the window.
She asked me whether I was interested in any of the watches. I said that personally I wasn’t, however, I knew someone who would be.
She then again asked if I wanted to buy it, I said no, she replied, that once, I walk away from the store, the watches would no longer be for sale and the price tags removed!
Sure enough when I went back a minute or so later, the display was as per the second photo.
That is so cr!p.
A gent standing next to me and overheard the initial conversation, when I went back. He said that he couldn’t believe what just had happened. He said that he was also waiting for a Rolex sport watch. But had given up and bought an Omega PO Chronograph.
And even got discount, thank you very much.

I don't really understand why they said they were for sale, how odd.

Sounds like some sort of weirdly aggressive sales tactic. I'm not up-to-speed on Rolex demand, but are any of those pieces particularly high demand?
There is a much nicer reflection in the second picture?
Shame there wasn't anything nice in the window
I just can’t get over pretty boring datejusts - which used to clog the windows of every jeweller I passed until maybe 5 years ago? - firstly being nearly £6k, and secondly being in any kind of demand. Crazy times!!
