    PRS 40 chronograph

It’s apparently arrived, but every sales day comes and goes (it appears) without it being available.

Is there any firm news about a sales date and/or photos of the finished article?

Apologies if I have missed any threads asking this exact question.

    Cheers all

Thanks for the link; I’d seen those, but was wondering if there were any newer actual photos, or news of a release date.
I’m wearing my prs 40 as I write, and would very much like to grab a chronograph to accompany it.

A question. Are the case dimensions of the chrono identical to the auto version or does it have its own case?

  9. #9
More or less identical, and a few grams lighter than the auto.

Mission Timer should be a couple of weeks after, maybe two openings after.

Commander around the end of October then hopefully Transglobal before Christmas.

That’s the plan at the moment I believe though things may change.

Looks like the website is updated on the two and three subdial PRS40s, £235 available from the 14th August.

It'll be interesting to see how quickly they go. Eddie's write up is very honest, this is a marmite design, so there will be a rush for it, but how big a rush?

Good luck to everyone attempting to pick up a Mission timer this afternoon.....this looks like it will be a massive seller, especially the three dial version so I expect the shop to be open for about 5 seconds later on.....fingers at the ready !!!

Well this is very peculiar. The time is 14:26 as of writing and the shop is still open, and very oddly the PRS-40 two dial, PRS-40 three dial, PRS-29A, PRS-29AM, and PRS-48 black dial are all (apparently) still available to add to cart.

Is it really that quiet or has something gone wrong with the store?

I note that the store gave me an alphabetical confirmation reference when I ordered. I've not seen that before. On previous occasions it immediately gave me an order number. On this occasion I was able to check my account area and the order number was visible there (and I received the order confirmation email).

    Has something changed?

Just bought a three dial at 14:22 - only logged on after getting back from a pub lunch and thought it would be rude not to buy something seeing as the shop was open.

You would have done today: The shop was open for roughly half an hour and none of the headline watches (i.e. PRS-40 both versions, PRS-29A, PRS-29AM, PRS-48 black dial) showed "SOLD OUT".

I don't know if it was just very, very quiet or if Eddie and Dave have altered the shop configuration.

I don't expect the PRS40 Chrono to be very popular. The Mission Timer (3 models) will be more popular. As for the Commander... they will go crazy.

My next one will be the cream dial Traveller GMT. I will probably swap the Expedition for it. Eddie has moved into another gear.

Could be. Even so, the shop seemed to be surprisingly quiet to my mind.

Then again, eBay seems quiet too. Is it a quiet time of year I wonder, or are financial concerns and energy prices causing people to hold back. If the latter, it's going to be a very bad recession.

    Hey all.

We've not changed anything with the store and everything seems to have worked correctly.

It was just a little quieter than usual but the Chronographs still sold well, you can never be sure what the reaction of a new model will be, especially one that divides opinion so much.

Everyone seems to be happy though and I've not had an angry email yet :)

I haven’t bought anything in a long time and didn’t know what to expect. I was ready, CC in hand at 13:58. :)
3 dial 40 is on the way to the USA!
I’m a big Chrono fan and have been watching this project since 2018, if I’m not mistaken. Great value for an interesting design, and my first bullhead chrono as well.
    Thanks Eddie!

It occurs to me that this will be my first bullhead of any sort.
