Tudor price rise (yes, I know….)

I wouldn’t normally create one of these threads but I thought the info would be useful to some; and, we’ll find out if it’s true on Friday in any event. I had an email this evening saying the Pelagius FXD I’ve been on the list for has just arrived at WOS. The salesperson said that there’s a Tudor and other brands (non-specific) price rise on Friday, so it’s very much in my interest to collect this Thursday if I can, which I’m doing.

I know there are many debates around price rises and rumours, so I’m just passing this on, but it does feel legitimate considering it’s come directly from a WOS salesperson and is related to an actual purchase. I don’t know which other brands are involved, so I’ll ask when I collect the watch and report back.

So if anybody is on the fence about buying a Tudor from their AD, maybe it’s worth buying it now before this apparent increase.

Wiffs of quarter two sales targets this! I may be proven wrong on Friday though.

    I’m also sceptical of this!

This is pasted from the email I received, which does make it sound genuine: “On the flip side we have also had confirmation that Tudor amongst a handful of other brands are having a price increase which comes into effect on Friday. Do you have any availability tomorrow ?”

Would be a surprise as I think they increased their prices in Jan 2022. But in this climate, with rising costs all over the place, I guess it could happen.

Anyone know what the % increase is? I believe Cartier are also increasing prices but that's hearsay at this stage.

Local AD said 4-5% so that ties in with the chrono increase above

Not surprising, inflation and pound is so weak, only Japanese yen weaker than £ this year

Got my panda BB chrono in nick of time then. Was already a tad miffed at spending an extra £190. BUT got a free Mont Blanc pen worth £190. So can’t complain.

Unrelated technically however Mercedes-Benz raised their APr for finance on new cars from 6.9% to 8.4% yesterday.

We were at 3.9% at the beginning of the year

As the owner of an asset finance brokerage competing with in house funders we are delighted to hear this news. Sorry Rick!!

Cost of funds have impacted all lenders and we will likely see two more 0.25% BoE base rate increases before the end of ‘22.
