    Fifty fathoms strap change

    Hi all,

hopefully have a BP FF incoming, i have read before that strap change requires a special kit, is that still the case, or can it be done with the correct sized screw driver?

Well, you certainly could spend the best part of £300 (from memory) on the strap changing tool. Or, you could buy two ordinary hex drivers - one for each side - that will also do the job perfectly well (again from memory, I think they're 0.9mm).

No, it just provides you with a handy base/holder/thingy (plastic, from memory) to seat the watch head in addition to the drivers, but you can do perfectly well without it. Put it this way - the kit's probably worth about ten or fifteen quid in real terms

You need two of these, 1st link I came to so they maybe available cheaper. As Tony said 0.9mm hex.

Spot on. The judicious application of two 0.9mm hex drivers does the job.

I’d also recommend an Artem strap. The deployant, less so.

Thanks for the link, interesting. May I ask if you have one of these on a 50 Fathoms and are they as good a quality or better than the Blancpain straps

I have one on my FF, I've not tried the Blancpain oem but the Artem is good quality and comfortable.
