A close friend/family member has not seen or heard from her Dad since the age of 2.

Now in her late 30's she would like to find him before he passes away.

She has his name, previous addresses & DOB, but that's about it. She's tried the 192 website (paid £20) and found an address that he lived at in 2005 but nothing more.

Is there a central database for this kind of stuff?

I'm surprised that any personal info is available online to the public, given the new GDPR restrictions. Is there a central public census database that's accessable to the layperson?

Or does she need to hire inspector Morse to find him?
