Thread: Breitling service recommendations?

  1. #1

    Breitling service recommendations?

My Colt needs a service and I was hoping to use an independent rather than Breitling UK (I don't want new hands, for starters). I've heard that Breitling aren't supplying parts to independents any more, though.

Will I have to use Breitling UK, or does anyone know of alternatives?

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry to ask OP - but why no new hands? Have you tried here: https://www.watchrepairuk.com/watch-...-watch-repair/

No affiliation - but gets good reviews on TP: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/watchrepairuk.com

Isn’t this just ETA 2824 movement? Usually if in good order the service will only replace the mainspring, after being disassembled and cleaned.

Send a PM to Paul (walkerwelk1958) and he may give you some advice, or maybe along shortly to comment.

He did my Tag Aquaracer with an ETA 2824 and did a great job too,

I knew the watchmaker in charge of Breitling service UK (in Tunbridge Wells at the time), including a specific bench for Emergencies (the watch).
I am sure at the time they would accommodate request like yours.
But of course going independent is a possibility.

I've had good service from them in the past, but won't ever use them again after the last time I sent my Aerospace into them. Ended up using STS, and I specifically requested a handset change, so I would assume they still have access to the parts.

Thanks for the recommendations so far, everyone.

I'm happy to have replacement hands, but only if they are exactly the same type. Last time Breitling changed my hands they didn't have the exact ones, and I ended up with a different style seconds hand. (They say removing hands is part of the service.)
